ABOUT

I am 23 years of age, a mum of 2 and married. I became a model to help build me, and now my goal is to empower women and believe that we are all beautiful, no matter your shape or size.

Karli, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

I started out participating in a modelling workshop to help build my self-esteem. From there, I fell in love with the industry and it honestly just took off! My passion and aspiration in life are to be the best version of me and show the world that no one is perfect. Embrace your inner beauty, and the rest will follow.

My motto: Discover your inner beauty to promote self-worth and encourage positive image.

Who is your inspiration in life Karli? How do you keep inspired?

I love Jenna Kutcher. She is one INSPIRING woman. She doesn't hide or change the way she looks just because it's on Instagram. She is always her true self and never afraid to show the world. I use to be so self-conscious about myself and the way I looked, but now! I am so happy for the woman I am and the way I look. Yep, not afraid to say it. Yes, we all still have our days, but choosing to be happy about yourself makes every day more enjoyable.

We all make mistakes Karli; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.

I have been fortunate to not been caught up in any sticky situations within my modelling career. However, I have been stuck with a photographer that has disrespected me in which I had to walk away.

Karli, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

I have always done well in prioritising my work in any field and in particular, under pressure. In some situations, priorities can change, but I'll easily adapt to that, complete that task and steadily work through the rest. I have managed large model shoots before with things changing all the time, but as long as you have the right information, priorities on hand and you know where you're at, anything can be accomplished and delivered with excellent service.

Please tell us, Karli, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

When I competed in the top 10 national finals for TV Reality Show, Miss Multiverse Australia, we were challenged on many different levels. We were under a lot of pressure on little to no sleep the whole week we were in Sydney and had to prioritise our days carefully. If we were not on time, it could have meant the end of the road for us. Running by a schedule, we had to be prepared for everything the night before and ready for the unknown of the challenges ahead.

Karli, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

I have worked with a lot of people and come to an agreement on ideas for a shoot, but I wouldn't say I have ever persuaded anyone to go things my way. I am open to anyone's ideas as I feel being a model, you can create so many different styles and images from a photograph.

Karli, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?

This would have definitely been taking part in TV Reality Show, Miss Multiverse Australia as a Top 10 National Finalist. I learnt so much about being in front of the cameras, being with high-end fashion photographers, paparazzi plus much more. It will always be something I will remember and only going to take me to amazing places. Since this opportunity came around, doors keep opening. Now representing Australia for new TV Reality Show on an international platform, Miss MegaVerse, I am sure this will rank my proudest moment once I compete in May 2018.

Karli, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I have always been creative in ways of thinking of different poses and styles but not necessarily been apart of a totally creative shoot just yet. Most of my work has been more high fashion looks which is my area I am passionate about. One time shooting at the Marriott here on the Gold Coast in bridal gowns was exciting as I got to create the look I wanted with hair and makeup, dressing up in beautiful gowns. This was definitely one of my favourite shoots with images that blew me away.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

So many people who are starting out in the modelling industry mostly think they have to look a certain way or be a certain size. The truth is, we are all unique and all different shapes and sizes. This is what the modelling industry is about. So my best piece of advice would be to stay true to yourself and focus on being the best version of you.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?

I would love to work with other fashion talents, brands and businesses, showcasing their work.
