Kandee Wallace
United States
State / Region

I am an actress and model from southwest Virginia who possesses a strong passion for creative arts, including fashion.
Since I was a child, I have been highly involved in the creative scene and went on to obtain my Bachelor's degree in Fine Art. I have put this to use by being involved in the fashion industry, designing my own clothing, and creating my own works of art.
In addition to being involved in modeling and acting, I love to paint and draw, I am a cheerleader, dancer, contortionist, and coach, and I love to hike, travel, weightlift, and will actually be competing in my first NPC bikini competition in a couple weeks.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Kandee. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I am a half deaf, self-taught artist, contortionist, gymnast, and cheerleader. I am also highly involved in pageantry and have competed at Miss Virginia USA and Miss Virginia United States. I use my community presence to raise awareness for a nonprofit organization I created, Steele Foundation, to raise money for a dear friend battling osteosarcoma. I also love to keep fit and exercise through my sports, hiking, weightlifting, and anything new I have the opportunity to try.

Kandee, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

My biggest goal in life is to continue to model and act, but also make an impression on the world either through art or activism. I hope to obtain my Ph.D. in art history and later on, open my own gallery and performing arts center.

Who is your inspiration in life Kandee? How do you keep inspired?

My inspirations in life come from plenty of people around me from my fiance, younger sisters, and grandparents, to my community and coworkers. I stay driven by staying busy and always keeping my goals in the forefront of my mind.

We all make mistakes Kandee, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I have attended many events where I didn't network as I should have. I wish I could go back and connect more with people when I first got into the industry.

Kandee, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Being as busy as I am, sometimes it is hard to find time for everything. My main goal is to always weigh the importance of a client vs. my career, family, or personal life. Most of the time I see the importance in keeping alert with clients, but there are also times when I have to realize a job is not worth putting before my loved ones, job, and financial stability. I always communicate this with a client so they understand.

Please tell us Kandee, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

At one point this past year, I had 5 jobs. 1 full time and 4 part time just to make ends meet. Scheduling was very difficult, but thank to help from coworkers, I was always able to attend my castings.

Kandee, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Being a creative, I often use that in my work. A photographer, who is now a best friend, had shot different people all the same ways. I encouraged him to work in color and other elements to diversify both our portfolios.

Kandee please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moments are first, being signed with my mother agency Gage Models and Talent as they gave me that start, and secondly signing on with Wilhelmina Philadelphia not even a year later. All of the credit definitely goes to my mother agency for giving me these opportunities.

Kandee, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I am almost always creative with my work. It is part of who I am. I hate basic head and body shots. I love to make it interesting and fun!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

Don't ever give up and trust your gut.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I love working with any photographer, designer, or other creative. I am always open to new things and want to try as many collaborations as I possibly can!

Now for the best part Kandee! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
