I consider myself unique because many people have told me that they have never met anyone like me before. I think this is due to my personality which can be described as funny, abrasive, poetic, angry, passionate, and more. Some things about me seem backwards almost. For example, I went to school for musical theatre and continued to perform in musicals. However, I am much more passionate as a fan of sports. I would much rather watch the game than see the newest Broadway show. But even more so, I love sports, but I like to dance more than anything else when it comes to physical activity. I would rather take a dance class than play a pickup game of soccer or basketball.
Jordan, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion is to become a renowned performer, especially in acting. I want to live through characters in compelling stories in film and on tv. I want to see billboards of myself as a model. I want to show the world that great talent can come from my hometown of Louisville, KY. I want to be looked up to and known as someone who is great at what they love to do.I started modelling by chance. For years, many people have told me that I could be a model. But I never really pursued it until I was in the show "In The Heights" and someone in my cast who is a photographer asked me if I would shoot for his magazine. I agreed, and after seeing how it turned out, I decided to try to pursue it as part of my career.
Who is your inspiration in life Jordan? How do you keep inspired?
Great acting inspires me for one. When I see great acting in a show or movie, it pushes me to get to where they are. One actor in particular who inspires me is Lakeith Stanfield. Also, I am inspired by great athletes such as Kobe Bryant, who was always one of the hardest workers of all time and is considered one of the greatest basketball players ever as a result of that. I stay inspired by witnessing great things that these actors, athletes, singers, and models accomplish.
We all make mistakes Jordan; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I am less experienced as I have not done many shoots. But one thing I can say is that after doing a shoot with someone, I wish I did not wait as long as I did to get my photos from him. I could have gotten them much earlier but did not take charge of the work I had done.
Jordan, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I always try to pay attention as much as possible to what the client is looking for. They are much like directors and have a vision that needs to be realised. They have entrusted me with realising their vision, and I owe it to them to make it happen.
Please tell us Jordan, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Well, I think this is an ongoing thing and doing this interview is part of it. I need to apply myself and get myself out there more in order to get hired more as a model.
Jordan, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
As an actor, you have to make choices in your work. There are many times when a director will come to you with their idea, and it may clash with the original choice you made, and you have to make a compromise or make an even better choice in order to sway them your way. I have always made bold choices in my acting and believe this is something I regularly do in my work.
Jordan, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
As I've said before, I do not have very many shots to my name and in that, not very many proud moments as of yet. However, one of the shoots I did was in a magazine which I think is a very big step for me as a model.
Jordan, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
With my modelling, I only have so much experience. However, with my acting, I have more to tell. When I was in "In The Heights" I played the character Benny who was a very big part. My director gave me a lot of freedom to make him my own and each day of rehearsal I came in with a different choice to add to it. I plan on employing this creativity in my modelling work.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
I would say to get yourself out there as much as possible and talk to a lot of people, so more people know who you are.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to model for any of these types of people. Whether it be a fashion designer trying to show off their clothes, a brand showing off its product, or something different.
