ABOUT
MBA, turned entrepreneur, turned fitness coach. With a background in business, I have been self employed from an early age. When the office life no longer served a purpose, I decided to make health and wellness a career. I became a wellness coach, personal trainer and yoga teacher. As a yoga and fitness instructor, I was approached to model for a strength related concept, and that started my modeling career

Our readers would love to get to know you more Johanna. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Race car driver, turned business owner, turned fitness and yoga instructor, turned model! I can honestly say I have lived many lives in one.

Johanna, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

I aspire to inspire others to be happy and love themselves for who they are. I began modeling by accident! I was an extra in a movie and was approached to be a model for a photographers club. I did not have any experience, but agreed when a photographer offered to meet with me and prep me for the shoot. It was an amazing experience and the beginning of a beautiful journey.

Who is your inspiration in life Johanna? How do you keep inspired?

I keep inspired by yoga and reading. Practicing every day and inspiring others to be better and to improve themselves every day.

We all make mistakes Johanna; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
As a woman with a strong personality, there have been times when I could have used a little softening around the edge. I am very truthful and blunt without regret. However, sometimes the truth hurts and we must be tactful with our words.

Johanna, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

With a background in business, an organization to me is crucial. Having my time appropriately organized and scheduled allows me the ability to provide clients accurate quoted in term of times and dates.

Please tell us, Johanna, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

I serve areas from VA to SC. Many times ensuring that projects remain on the schedule is important to properly meet all client needs. I also make sure I provide myself enough time for unforeseen circumstances.

Johanna, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
As a manager of a yoga club, I am consistently persuading people. Members will ask about the schedule or classes, and I must validate our reasons for offering what we do when we do. I often have to persuade my manager to revisit my budget to improve retention and quality of the teachers I hire. And I often think differently than those around me, so I often have to persuade others to understand the importance of evolving and changing for growth.

Johanna, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want with share to everyone. What is it and why?
A couple of months ago I was cast for a full-size mermaid sculpture! It has been so amazing to work with the artist and to be a part of the project. The artist was commissioned to create a life-size mermaid for a house in the Bahamas and the tail will be made of copper scales!

Johanna, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I had a photographer hand me some material and ask me to make something out of it. It was nerve wrecking and exhilarating all at once. To have someone trust you enough to create a concept! We found a studio with indoor and outdoor space and had the best shoot ever!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

1. Have fun! It is not easy to make it in this industry, so you better love every minute of the journey

2. Be Smart! Don't allow others to take advantage of you. Sign contracts, know what you're getting into and bring an escort!

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love collaborations with fashion talents, brands and creatives.
