I am currently a freelance model travelling between New Jersey, New York, and Pennsylvania. Rate per hour (1-3 hours) $50/hr Half day shoot (4-5 hours) $200 flat rate Full day shoot (6-8 hours) $400 flat rate
During my undergrad years, I studied Healthcare Administration, and currently, I am furthering my education by pursuing my master's degree. I started modelling in 2015 when a photographer at a family's event scouted me. I always shy in front of the camera and didn't think I was model material or photogenic, but I gained confidence and fierceness which why I want to continue. I love fashion and putting outfits together. As a freelance model, it is sometimes expected for you as the model to come with your clothes, so this is where I can show my creative ability. In 2013, I modeled for Anthony Eastwick, a designer based in NJ. Even though I do not have any educational background in model or fashion but I can adapt easily and a very quick learner.

Our readers would love to get to know you more JoAnna. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I am Haitian-American, currently in school pursuing my master's degree. I love to dance, mostly liturgical and afro beats.
JoAnna, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I love to dance. I love to learn a different style of dance, and I wish to own a studio shortly. I started modelling in 2015 when a photographer scouted me at a family's event. I was a bit shy about it at first, but I gained so much confidence, and the love of art and fashion gave me the drive to keep going.
Who is your inspiration in life JoAnna? How do you keep inspired?
Just having the mentality to do better and be better than my parents. They want the best for me, and they allow me to broaden my horizons to find myself and be truly happy in the career path of my life.
We all make mistakes JoAnna; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I just want to work on voicing my opinions, wants, or needs. Sometimes we want so badly to make it that we are willing to do anything that is beyond our comfort zone. Great things come to those who are patient. So never rush the process, and yes it is great to try new things but never allow fame or money take you beyond your morals or beliefs.
JoAnna, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Always ask questions! Making sure I know what they expect from a shoot. Knowing what they will provide or not provide so that I am prepared. It is also good to have a planner so that you don't overbook yourself and help with time management.
Please tell us JoAnna, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I believe I do this with all my shoots which to be precise in what you want, so nothing is misconstrued. I haven't done one yet but maybe making a contract between model and photographer so that agreements are all the way met.
JoAnna, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I don't think it was persuasion but just having a level of respect because due to religion, I do not wear jewellery. So when it is just suggested during the shoot, I have to be firm about what I will and will not allow.
JoAnna, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I entered a model competition for Taji Magazine to be on the cover, but, I lost to another female. Props to her! However, the owner of the magazine loved my look, so they wanted to work with me to do a beauty spread.
JoAnna, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I love to shop and to put outfits together, so that is usually the time I get to be creative. I also learn from other people so I may view other model's Instagrams so I may see the pose they do a replicate it with a twist.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Learn that you will get the door shut in your face. Not every photographer may want to work with you cause they will be looking for a certain size or look. So never let that be a discouragement in your career. Stay true to yourself, be confident, persistent and driven.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
As far as collaboration, I would want to be signed to a model agency so that it can help expand my brand.
Now for the best part JoAnna! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
