To me, creativity is more than just an acquired skill; it is a way of living, the energy you bring to a situation. I bring my creativity into everything I do and have done from my college classes to my photography experience outside of college. I'd like to continue showcasing my energy and creativity as a model. I would love the chance to bring my coordinating skills and creativity anywhere I go.
Jessica, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Model?
When I was a little girl, I watch the Tyra show faithfully every day after school. I studied and looked at Tyra's old work and saw myself in those magazines. I started by going around downtown in my hometown of Asheville, asking boutiques for a chance to model their clothes.
Who is your inspiration in life, Jessica? How do you stay inspired as a Model?
I am inspired by different African cultures and African American culture. 70s style inspires me as well. I stay inspired by finding what's easy for me than challenging myself to step outside my box.
We all make mistakes, Jessica; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
In the past, I made the mistake of letting love put my modeling on hold.
Jessica, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
I am very knowledgeable and open to other cultures, and this keeps me open-minded and allows me to connect with many different people
Please tell us, Jessica, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?
I always put family first. Work, friends, and social life come next.
Jessica, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I had an employee who had a habit of comparing a personal experience of his to every problem we experienced at work, thus clouding his judgment. It caused us to get behind on work because of his slacking. Instead of sending him home I suggested he use his frustration to speed up work, which he did and became one of my best employees
Jessica, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
While walking in my first fashion show, I managed to have the best stage presence as well as be a big help backstage.
Jessica, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I have been asked many times to contribute to a shoot I participated in, it was difficult to be the model as well as help style other models but an adrenaline rush as well as a rewarding experience
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Stay true to yourself and when you think you're working hard, work even harder.
