I never went to school for modeling, but I always had a passion for fashion and style. Fashion to me is like art, by wearing different clothing, I can do different themes giving off a different mood. I went to school for Emergency Medical Tech. I couldn't think of anything better than saving lives for the rest of my life. But my passion for that wasn't as strong as the passion I have for modeling. I'm super friendly and great to work with. I'm dedicated to the modeling industry, and I want to strive for it.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Jesse. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
The most unique quality I have is, self-taught. I never had a father figure in my life, so I had to teach myself how to be a man. Whether it came to poetry, drawing, style and other forms of art, along with different types of sports, just to push myself to the limit.
Jesse, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion is art. The fact you can turn nothing into something and sometimes that art can inspire others. I want to be that art that inspires others. I got into modeling because some of my friends became photographers and they always wanted to shoot with me because I have a different variety range of styles I can put together.
Who is your inspiration in life Jesse? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is my mother. She is the strongest and independent person I've ever met in my whole life. She taught me that if you put your heart into it and you love what you do, you can accomplish anything. That's what drives me to make the perfect art for art lovers.
We all make mistakes Jesse; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I got scouted out by a modeling agency called Next. Within a month, they wanted me to gain a lot of muscle. It was my mistake not telling her that I didn't have the sufficient funds to go to the gym, get a personal trainer, or the right equipment to do so.
Jesse, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
I like to get to know everyone's vision, so it makes the environment a lot easier to work in. As other people are shooting, I try to give my input on how the shoot could look better.
Please tell us, Jesse, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
When I first started modeling, I was too stiff. By playing music, it made me a lot more confident in taking pictures. Also, get acquainted with the photographers on what they want from the shoots, and it gave me a better outlook on what they were trying to achieve.
Jesse, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
When I had a group photo shoot, I was noticing that one of the models I was shooting with was too stiff. So I persuade her to stay in motion but slow motion so the photographer could shoot all possible angles. I also told her to pretend the photographer wasn't there and to look passed him. At the end of the shoot, my advice worked out, and I was extremely glad I helped out.
Jesse, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
There was a photographer who would only shoot females. I persuaded him to shoot other things, like nature, males, just anything. It opened up his mind to different forms of art. Showing others that there are different forms of art, makes me proud because you can make art from anything and everything.
Jesse, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
A week ago, I did Valentine's photo shoot, and I brought different types of props such as balloons, flowers, edibles. It made the photo shoot a really fun time.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
To pursue what you love doing because it is better to live a short life doing the things you love than living a long life being miserable. Also, stop every once in awhile and look around because life is too short and if you don't stop, you could just miss it. Finally, surround yourself with positivity.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I am not picky what so ever, I have a wide sense of style, but I was told to go to the higher end of styles like Gucci and Prada.
Now for the best part Jesse! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
