I am more into portrait photography; I also love to work with child models because I feel more challenged to show and produce a great photo from children who are not that experienced compare to adults.
Jay Carlo, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Others?
Photography, Film, and Graphic Design has a very special place in my heart. I am planning to go into the field of Advertising, where I can showcase my skills in graphic design, film, and photography. It all started just out of curiosity and passion.
Who is your inspiration in life Jay Carlo? How do you stay inspired as a Others?
My family is my number one inspiration. On the other hand, personalities who started from the bottom are my inspirations to fight for my place in the industry; I always put in mind that if they can, I also could.
We all make mistakes, Jay Carlo; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
The biggest mistake that I have done for me was on my early years in college; I don't take things seriously, I just went with the flow, passed my subjects just for the sake of passing it and not thinking of what I could have done. I could have done better works. I think I have not done my best even if I told myself I had done the best.
Jay Carlo, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
I know I can handle different personalities, I can adjust easily, and I highly respect everyone's opinion. I value teamwork and respect when it comes to working.
Please tell us, Jay Carlo, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?
I prioritize everything at the same time. I believe that I should not focus only on one aspect. Every aspect helps me to be more inspired to do things, my friends and family inspire me to work, my work inspires me to do better for my family, and my social life inspires me that I also need to value friendship and family to be able to continue to work.
Jay Carlo, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I always listen to them. Before I could persuade someone, I think we should all listen first, and with that, I can share my thoughts to let them see things more.
Jay Carlo, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Others.
As a student photographer, I admit that I have not yet accomplished anything major when it comes to photography, but I am very open to learn and experience more.
Jay Carlo, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
There was a time that I had no models to shoot and highly technical equipment to shoot. I then decided to pull my sister as a model and use an aluminum foil as my reflector. I always use natural lighting.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Others?
Keep on taking pictures. Shoot. Shoot. Shoot.
