I value creativity and being different. From a young age, I was bullied because I didn't dress the same as the other kids. I liked bright colors and dresses, and they would rather wear jeans and a t-shirt. It was very difficult because my parents didn't support my ideas and would rather have me "just fit in". I have never fit into society, and I don't want to. Being myself was the greatest decision I've ever made. I hope to inspire other young girls and boys to be themselves no matter what. It is truly rewarding.
Jamie, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I love art and music. I've never been too good at math or science, but with English and the arts, I could always find my place. I love to write songs and poetry and draw pictures of my friends and favorite celebrities. I also love photography and creating concepts for self-shots. I became a model because I just thought it was really fun and it was something I was good at. I also hope to be a singer someday and inspire others with my lyrics.
Who is your inspiration in life Jamie? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration in life has got to be my boyfriend. He is the most supportive man I've ever met. He helps me through life's countless ups and downs and is always there to pick me up when I fall. He always makes me feel so talented and helps me realise my true potential. Instagram has been a big help in keeping me also inspired my Tumblr helps me to live the best life possible because I see daily how others live their lives and I aspire to be like them.
We all make mistakes Jamie; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I can't recall any times I had an issue that had to do with modelling. But there have been numerous other mistakes I've made otherwise.
Jamie, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
Being very clear and adamant about what each client expects of me would be helpful. I need to fully understand what I'm doing and where the project is going further.
Please tell us, Jamie, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Putting together the time needed to do a shoot has always been a challenge of mine because there are so many aspects to it. The makeup, the hair, the outfit and the location all have to be done in a very timely manner.
Jamie, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
While I was working at a toy store in my neighbourhood, the bosses were having trouble with sales but didn't want to increase their budget for marketing. So I proposed that we contact the local news station to get us featured on their small business specialists. It went fantastic, and after our special aired, sales increased immensely.
Jamie, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I think my proudest moment was seeing my portfolio photos for the first time and showing them to my friends and family. It made me realise that my dreams were within my reach and if I worked at it enough, I could make it someday.
Jamie, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I lived with my parents, I started self-shooting to pass the time. I would create whole concepts that I'd craft my makeup, outfit and sets around. From being a fairy princess to a leather jacket queen. I did many different looks using my digital camera and a self-timer. My mom would sometimes dislike the looks I created, so I had to make sure I had enough time to finish the shoot before she saw me.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Know your angles, use ambient lighting and be yourself. I always love when I can see the model's personality shine through on a feature.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I hope to be a sponsor for a clothing or accessory company and work from home.
