Well first let me thank you for this amazing opportunity to showcase myself to you and the fashion world. I started modelling eight months ago, and I've come a long way. What amazing is that I'm 26 and I never looked at myself to be a model till I got a taste of shooting for an upcoming street brand. And I have to say I fell in love ever since. I have been grinding and working with different photographers and companies. I'm very humbly, and I noticed that in this world you have to do things out your comfort zone to get to that next level. This I speak of being more outgoing, networking, and taking risks.
Israel, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I started to doing outdoor shoots for my friends brand in Brooklyn. Then I reached out to every streetwear brand via Instagram. Till I landed my first media shoot with foot action. I later than was given the opportunity to do a campaign shoot. I have been hungry ever since.
Who is your inspiration in life Israel? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is my mother. She showed me that despite obstacles that life throws you, it could never stop you from achieving your dreams. I say my mother is my inspiration because she graduated nursing school and landed a nursing job all while battling lupus.
We all make mistakes Israel; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
One shoot I said a stupid immature comment about women who wear makeup. And I when I said it I had no idea of the effect It had on the other models until someone approached me about it. I wish I can go back and take that back.
Israel, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I always ask them before any shoot what's the theme and aesthetic of the shoot. Aswell I'm always myself; I give off great energy, so I hope whenever or wherever I'm at that energy can channel into whoever I'm working with.
Please tell us Israel, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I feel like I have to be strategic every time I have an opportunity to model. I always make sure that I have everything organised and ready to go before any job. I'm a planner so any upcoming job I have I always make sure my checklist is updated and completed.
Israel, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I am very creative so if there is any chance where I can add my creativities I never hold back. One time I worked with a videographer that wasn' sure about what type of role I should act for a hotel fragrance. So when I presented my idea he was shocked but thrilled because it played out very well for the video.
Israel, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment was doing a campaign shoot for foot action and American stitch. Seeing myself in 250 stores worldwide, not only brought tears to myself but it also showed me that hard work and dedication means a lot. I've been going super harder knowing that my possibilities are endless. If you want something, you have to get it.
Israel, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I was able to get super creative at this shoot with these two Siberian husky dogs. The photographer then asked me for ideas. I'm not going to lie being a creative director was fun as hell.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Honestly, it might sound cliche but always give it 115 percent. I say this because there are so many people that want to pursue the same dream, and the only thing that can separate yourself from others is your work habit and your personality. I don't care how good you are but if people don't like your personality no one will want to work with you.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm always looking for collaborations. A few brands that I would love to do collabs with is ASOS, Nike, top man, offwhite, Louis Vuitton, and Givenchy. But I'm not picky anything that is presented I'm always willing to work with.
