I like to help people. Every time somebody calls me to shoot something, I'm asking myself how I can serve this man/ woman or business and deliver what people expected from me. Usually, people expect to get from photographer images equal to the very best that they saw in a photographers portfolio. The problem is that not every photoshoot is the same, and sometimes, we all fail. I'm trying to be consistent with delivering the same high results every time.
Igor, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Photographer?
My only inspiration is God. I started as a photographer a long time ago and tried to shoot everything that attracted me, until one day, I realized what I enjoy and what I want to shoot for the rest of my life. When it happened, I started working hard to achieve the best results that I can in the selected genre. My motto is a start where you are with what you have. Absence of equipment shouldn't stop you from learning, growing and shooting)
Who is your inspiration in life Igor? How do you stay inspired as a Photographer?
I got inspired by the work of Peter Lindbergh, Gavin O'Neill, Anna Leibovitz, Danni Diamond, and many others. I try to learn from all of them in order to build my unique style, which to be honest, I'm still building. I think that in order to stay inspired you should learn all the time. Don't stop and give up, even when you see the next brilliant photo of photographer you follow and realize that you never be able to do anything closer to this piece of art.
We all make mistakes Igor; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I made a lot of mistakes, to be honest. I made a lot of photoshoots that were a disaster, and I learned a lot from my fails. But the biggest mistake that I did was my decision to stop shooting at some time. That mistake cost me time loss and was super expensive.
Igor, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
I like to turn client to a friend of mine. I realize that I'm only a servant to my customer, and when I turn him to a friend of mine, it helps me to achieve and deliver great results.
Please tell us, Igor, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?
I put my family on top of everything; work is the second in my priority list. The rest is social life and friends)
Igor, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
Oh, it happens quite often. I can be very convincible when I need to make things work my way. For example, I had the experience to help one model to renew her book, and we tried to compete and beat some photoshoot that she had already in her bok, which was outdated but shot by a very famous French photographer who was working for Armani a lot. She asked me to do the same, but I was able to convince her to do it according to modern trends since I realized that trends changed from that time a lot and if I were doing the same it would be looking weird. The photo session was a piece of cake, but the retouching process was a mess. I changed it 6 times before we came to result that fully satisfied both of us.
Igor, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer.
Oh, it's a very difficult question. I try to explain why - I'm not looking for fame. I like to help people. When I see that my work helps some actress to get a job or some model to get a highly paid contract, should I be proud of it? I don't think so. I think at this moment that I did my job as I should, and that's all.
Igor, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I'm trying to be creative all the time. If you're not creative, you don't succeed as a photographer - it's part of your life. One example: I had a photoshoot in the past when I was shooting two models in the studio, and at some point, I had a radio transmitter failure which ended up with the situation when I stayed without working strobe lights. After all my attempts to fix situation failed, we decided to continue to shoot our models using natural light in the studio, but it required from me to change a little bit concept and be creative to find a right place to shoot. Outdoor wasn't an option since it was winter and models were in summer dresses)
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
Don't give up! Never!
