Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Gemma, how would you best describe yourself?

Our readers would love to get to know you more Gemma. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
I completely redesigned my life last year after my divorce from a 12-year relationship, and I am now creating my dream of being a photographer, model and studio manager. I'm also a mum with tattoos and a love of adrenaline sports. I am passionate about exploring connection and emotion, through both my photography and modelling; it's what makes me happy at the end of the day

Keep interviewing me!

What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Gemma?
I have no idea where this journey will take me but as long as I am smiling then I know I'm doing it right. I am a massive hippy though so if I can help others and surround myself with good people, then I will feel like I've succeeded in life

How do you communicate with people Gemma? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I always put myself in other people's shoes, which helps me to understand their hopes and fears. If you can connect with someone or feel empathy, then you can move mountains.

If you had to do it over again, what would you change Gemma?
Nothing. My darkest days made me who I am. I am finally getting to a place where I feel like I am the most authentic me I can be. Maybe I would have cut out my years in recruitment haha! Nobody needs that soul destroying experience in their lives!

Who is your hero Gemma, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
Tough one! My friend once told me you have to be your own hero, but I do admire Yasmeena Rossi in many ways.

How important are creative education courses Gemma? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
I've been toying with this idea for a while. Even if it's just for being around people like me! The energy you get from being around people who dare to dream is so valuable. It's definitely something to think on

Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Keep creating. The fear and doubt will always be there as most of us are our own worst enemies but do it for you, not for what others think. It's only their perception anyway if they don't value your work! Also, don't chase the money - do what you love, and the money will come to you
