ABOUT
Something unique about me is that I have an eye for photography, I can see a person or a scene and immediately know how I would photograph that moment... my editing style is also not limited to just one style, and my clients appreciate that with me it's like getting 20 different "magazine pages" lol
Gaddeline, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
My passion is photography, I have been taking pictures since I was about 12 years old and knew someday that I would make this dream my reality to do it full time, and while I just turned 37 that dream finally came true, I left corporate America after nearly 20 years and had proven that it is never too late to start your true passion in life.
Who is your inspiration in life Gaddeline? How do you keep inspired?
I stay inspired by the artist of all kinds; I have always been attracted to individuals with special talents, for example, a violin player, a piano player, a ballet dancer, a fashion designer, people that have followed their dreams since day one and are masters of their crafts!
We all make mistakes Gaddeline; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Lucky for me I am my boss and have a wonderful team of four, we all get along, and everyone is treated as an equal, all ideas are welcomed to the table. I am a strong believer in respect for one another overall, with respect first everything is possible.
Gaddeline, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
When working with a large group of people, I usually like to have already an outline or written idea of what is the most important product being advertised, a person that is supposed to be the main focal point, or even what is the client's main target for the day... I make everyone feel important but also deliver what is most important first to the client and go from there.
Please tell us Gaddeline, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
There was a time when I had to shoot 4 models in less than 6 hours for their portfolios, I went out ahead of time to scout locations and was able to find one that provided about 5 different scenes (backgrounds) we were able to do all the models at the same location in less than 4 hours! It was amazing!
Gaddeline, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I had a client once that wanted to have a fairy Forrest theme for her pictures, I kept telling her that maybe we should do a more innocent look that was soft and ethereal but not so Fairy like, at first she didn't agree and so I took a few shots but then I told her to let me take a few photos of her with out the headband, wings, and crown she had on, just her and her dress with her hair loose, after showing her some of the images she agreed that she looked better and the photos were still dreamy which is what she wanted in the end.
Gaddeline, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When my mother saw my first editorial shoot pictures, and her jaw dropped, that was a proud moment for me because I do t think she realised how good I was.
Gaddeline, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Every time is exciting and difficult when I edit my shots, my level of creativity is such that I want each image to look it's best and not the same!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
Keep practising, keep learning, never give up. Watch tutorials, be a second shooter, use friends at first as models and practice on them, use every available source you have and practice, practice, practice!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to do collaborations, fashion, portrait, and even Portfolio photography and working with models male or females would be amazing!
