Our readers would love to get to know you more Franklin. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
My name is Franklin Pardon and I am from the Chilean Patagonia. I have always liked modeling photography and showing the latest trends. As well as showing my region and the wonderful places which my country has to offer to the world. My dream is to one day be able to do a photography session for a great company, and therefore, demonstrate my capacities and prove that there are also great professionals in Punta Arenas, Chile.
What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Franklin?
I see myself working for a fashion magazine. I dream about that all the time, I know I will get there someday. However, I would like to have the chance to demonstrate that in the Patagonia we have people capable of doing that type of work, that we have the technical resources, and that we have incredible places to shoot photography sessions. It would be wonderful if I were able to display in a fashion magazine the places we have to do modeling photography.
How do you communicate with people Franklin? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I communicate well with my clients, I am friendly, I have a great sense of humor and I am very patient. I generally have a very good relation with my clients. I always follow their orders, for me the client is always right.
If you had to do it all over again, what would you change Franklin?
To get where I am today, many things had to happen in my life. I had to study hard, learn from my mistakes and find good people on the way. Everything for me has been a great lesson and today that is reflected in my work, which I extremely enjoy.
Who is your hero Franklin, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
Since I began to specialize in Santiago I met a fashion photographer called Javier Moretta, he taught me a lot about this field. He is a very patient person and has great knowledge of fashion and digital retouching. However, to get to this point you also have to have the appropriate models and I was lucky enough to meet professional models committed with my job. Therefore, I have to thank my models from Punta Arenas, Santiago, Argentina, Germany and France.
¿ How important are creative education courses Franklin? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
For me it is important to study. Since 2013 when I took the decision to specialize myself for the first time, I have not stopped updating my knowledge. Fashion is always looking for different technics, and therefore I was forced to study Photoshop editing, photography lighting and directing again. Every time I have the opportunity to go to the capital I take a new course.
Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Yes I do, you have to be persistent, work, work, work, and study hard to become the best. I am from the Chilean Patagonia and I am being interviewed by a fashion magazine, it’s a dream come true! Today I see things this way: everything is possible, because your dreams can turn into reality.
