I'm an all-rounder. I do a lot of things and a quick learner. I enjoy what I do from cleaning the house to doing photoshoots. I'm a helper. I help without question and don't do it for my benefit. I have a very friendly nature and easy to talk to. I like to be positive and make others feel positive.
Ethel, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Model?
I have never thought of it seriously. Before I started, I was always told that I look like a model and one day I thought why not try it out and see if I get something out of it. So I signed up on a site called model mayhem. I got contacted by photographers for shoots since then. I get paid for some, and I do other ones to help out. Either way, I get to experience and enjoy it.
Who is your inspiration in life Ethel? How do you stay inspired as a Model?
My inspiration is my family. I don't stay inspired as a model but as a person. I want to do well in life so I can give back to my parents for all that they have done for me and be there for them. I also want to be able to help people/places that need it. To sum it up, what inspires me is picturing the happiness that I'll bring to their lives by giving back.
We all make mistakes Ethel; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
Only thing I can do is fix it and not repeat it. What is done can't be changed, but it can be fixed.
Ethel, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
Understanding. Friendly. Straightforward. Easy to work with. I tend to get along well with whoever I meet.
Please tell us, Ethel, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?
When I work, I work. When I'm with my family, I focus on my family. Same when with friends. I don't mix anything. I like to have a balance. I do keep my phone with me if I know an important call is on the way. Be it from work, family, or friends. So if I have planned something with my family beforehand and somebody needs me elsewhere at that time. I will not cancel my family time for that.
Ethel, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I'm not a persuasive person. I like to know how others see things or what their point of view is. I will explain my view and whether they accept it or not is their decision. I would not want to change someone's view unless it is very negative. All I can do then is explain. Rest is their choice.
Ethel, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
Personally, it would be the fashion show I was part of a few years ago. I had to walk in front of I don't know how many people. I was very nervous, but I managed to pull it off, and my heel broke but thankfully it was when leaving the stage. Apart from that, I'm always happy doing photoshoots and getting opportunities to meet people and grow as a model.
Ethel, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I have always wanted to do a traditional photo shoot. Traditional shoot in a European country. Want show I haven't forgotten my roots even though I have been living in Ireland since I was 11. I did not get to do it yet, however.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Keep going after what you love, and when you get there, don't stop and relax. Keep working, keep growing, and keep achieving, learn from failure. And don't let anyone make you feel like you are not capable because you know you are. Last but not least, stay humble.
