ABOUT

I stand up for what I believe in.

Djamila, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

Lupita made me want to start modelling because she says she is not too dark to be beautiful and that is my motto. I aspire to be an international model and an international lawyer at the same time. I want to have the looks and the knowledge of the books.

Who is your inspiration in life Djamila? How do you keep inspired?

Rihana and Lupita. The way I stay inspired is by telling myself that I can Change the meaning of beauty.

We all make mistakes Djamila; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.

When I did my first fashion show models were rude at first I would not speak, but now I am outspoken

Djamila, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

I look at the level of respect I am given and go from there. The more you respect me, the more I will prioritise you.

Please tell us Djamila, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

Not always prioritising negative comments.

Djamila, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

Whenever I am trying to persuade someone to see the way I use facts so people can see.

Djamila, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?

To generalise when I receive requests to model for a company or a photographer.

Djamila, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I had a recent photo shoot in a studio, and it was my first time working in a studio and I have to do something different. It was very exciting to experience.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

Don’t always look for the money do it out of love and be patient. I would also say stay humble and treat people with kindness.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?

I am looking to collab with about anyone.
