Our readers would love to get to know you more David. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I think I'm unique in many ways. I had a horrible childhood leading up to my teenage years. I take all that pain and turned it into motivation. I set my own values and goals to become a great man daily. I'm a very stylish, self-motivated, and an inspiration to others. I have a certain type of energy that rubs off on people. I'm a people person and people love being around me.
David, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion and aspiration are to become a great model. My real passion is to open my own Modeling agency and become the top agency in the world. This new found passion was started back in 2015. A woman by the name of Lieshia Walker gave me the motivation to start modeling. Watching her walk a few runway shows and doing a few photo shoots spark my interest. She was herself on that runway and that something I can get with. Turning myself into a brand and motivating others to do the same.
Who is your inspiration in life David? How do you keep inspired?
Sheldon Stallworth, my grandfather is the biggest inspiration even though he is not here with us anymore. This man understood who I was as a person and the struggles I was going through in my younger days. He kept me on my toes and made sure I was doing the right things and given the right information to succeed in life. I love you, Granddad. So every day I get up I repeat these word every morning " I am strong, I am fearless if I had any issues with a life I will go handle it with full force. Don't just go through it, grow through it." Great words from my grandfather.
We all make mistakes David, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
In my modeling career, I haven't run across the situation like this. I make sure all my I's are dotted and my T's are crossed. If I felt uncomfortable I always approached who i was working with as humble as possible.
David, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
I always kept an excel spreadsheet on hand of who I'm working with. I take notes on what they're needs are and what they're excepting so when we work together on the future project I know exactly what they're looking for.
Please tell us, David, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
It takes a certain type of discipline to put out 100% effort every time. To achieve my goal to get into an agency I had to do many things. It was hard to stay focus because I had another job. So what I did is created a weekly plan that surrounded my personal life and career life. I set alarms, reminders, reaching out and being resourceful to accomplished my agency goals. I followed the same guide and if something changes i would learn how to adapted
David, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
One of my managers for Verizon didn't like me spending a lot of time helping customers with issues and setups. They thought it toke away from me being on the sales floor. People that know me know I'm an amazing sales person and I was really good. So i explained to my manager about the future of the business and longevity for our customers. I stated that as long as I keep doing this I will get referrals and more and more business just for going above and beyond for our peoples. She didn't want to listen but it was okay because she saw the results. I had more people asking for me than anyone I worked with. Customers trusted me and knew i would get the job done. My manager pulled me in the office and apologized for her being unprofessional and not taking on new ideas.
David, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
one of my proud moment as a model is walking 4 runway shows in a year. My biggest accomplished that I am proud of is becoming one of the models for the Ohio Fashion week. That's Hughes and I'm glad I got to this point. Also this offer to get featured in your magazine. This was a goal for this year and I couldn't be more grateful for this opportunity.
David, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
My knowledge is power shoot was created by me. I love this shoot because it gave people an idea that we as people need to keep our minds sharp and on point to handle any situation. It was an exciting shoot because it also motivated folks to pick a book every day and feed your brain. The difficult thing about this was getting to the location I wanted to shoot at. My car broke down but I did what it takes to get there.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Please never give up. Its a tough industry with a lot of major talent. You have to be fearless and confident in what your representing. Turn yourself into a brand, do your research, and reach out to other fellow models to see what they're doing differently. Take it and own as your own.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I am. Magazine/Editorial opportunities, Commercial opportunities, and I will always walk the runway and kill it.
Now for the best part David! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
