With my photography I try to look for mystery and elegance in the female figure; The most important thing for me is to take my models out of their comfort zone. Strong looks and poses that are out of the ordinary are the elements that characterise me as a photographer.
When I work for a specific customer, either editorial or commercial, I look for leading the client towards an idea that is interesting to them; this is the best way to get the best results.
However some clients want to follow their visión, in the end, the client is always right, and I am their tool for making what they have in mind.
David, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
David Ferraro is a young fashion photographer who currently lives in NYC and Madrid. It was at the young age of 16-17 when I first picked up a digital camera, and from that moment until today I have been building my Career in fashion photography with an editorial and commercial style where the construction of an image begins from a creative process that achieves a narrative in my images. The passion for this beautiful art began when I realised that through photography I could place my ideas and perceptions in images. Photography is capable of representing you as a person; it even represents your feelings and dreams, so this is what today keeps me in love with it.
Who is your inspiration in life David? How do you keep inspired?
My inspiration is the photographer I admire, like models and magazines, I consider that the best inspiration for photographers is to see editorials and you are pending new trends.
We all make mistakes David; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
In all situations, when there are things that get out of hand I prefer to shut up and calm down before I have problems.
With a clear mind and your bad temper, the problems are solved in a better way,
David, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I usually respect the order of delivery; however, if a job has to be delivered on the same day as another work, I do overtime work to respond to my clients
Please tell us, David, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
Usually, you have to be very strategic about your work; you have to be organised and responsible, so your customers are going to be happy with what you deliver them
David, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
In one of my productions "Ostentosa affliction" the challenge was to recreate a Viking stage with snow and rear gardens, the problem is that in the country that made the production there is no snow. It was a big challenge and f organisation, but the result was incredible, and the persuasion and effort gave great results
David, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
The biggest accomplishment that I consider can be two, the first one is to have had an exclusive interview in New York and the second one is to have been the only one of my university who received the title of honourable mention for an honorific work
David, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When the brand lets you be creative with the work, it is because they are trusting in your artist's eye, consider that when you are given freedom, assume and risk that is very emotional because it is the image of a brand that you have in your hands.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?
Be original and creative, try to make your work very personal and make sure you like it, do not be afraid to experiment and do not let yourself be misguided by styles, shoot as you want and do what makes you happy.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Of course, many times I work in collaboration; so I am looking for editorials, brand image, models, makeup artists. Collaborations that make me known as a photographer.
