ABOUT

What can I say that I haven’t already covered? I suppose I’ll start with some of the basics that make me who I am. I’m 27 years old, I have ADHD, and I’m a jack of all trades. Over the years I have tried my hand at as many different things as I can. The best way to describe myself would be to say that I am an explosion of colour.

Daryl, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?

I strive to be the best in whatever I do. I want to be the best. I work hard every single day to put my all into whatever the day has to offer. Self-improvement is my addiction. I want to be remembered as someone capable and different. Modelling kind of just fell to me. I didn’t look for any of my previous shoots, they all came to me, and I’m up for anything. I don’t shy away from a challenge and never will.

Who is your inspiration in life Daryl? How do you keep inspired?

My inspiration is my past. To know where I’ve come from and to know that anyone can be saved inspires me to keep moving upwards and forwards.

We all make mistakes Daryl; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.

Unfortunately, I haven’t been modelling for long enough to have made a mistake yet, but I have always tried to learn from my mistakes and will continue to do so.

Daryl, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?

I’ve worked on stage quite a few times, and that’s the closest to working with a surplus amount of clients. I try to weigh up the vibe of the audience and the material on stage, to try and find a peaceful balance. I’d like to see myself as a people person because I genuinely listen all the time and I’m never just waiting for my turn to speak. I care about everything everyone says, and that is how I go about prioritising people’s needs and wants.

Please tell us, Daryl, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?

I haven’t had enough work to have to arrange jobs and shoots around one another just yet. But I will.

Daryl, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

One of my jobs is heavily based on sales, and I like to think that I’m a pretty good salesman. I love meeting and beating targets, and the team I work with didn’t share the same thirst. So over the course of a few days, I have several pep talks to the team, and we have improved tenfold.

Daryl, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?

When I got my first final edit back from a shoot, I showed my grandparents. They were ecstatic. They were so proud of how much I had turned my life around.

Daryl, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I was working on a professional theatre production in Plymouth, and the directors were away for a day. We were left with complete creative control over the day's scheduled scenes, and we made some amazing material. This was the first time on this production that we were given control of the reigns and we were all hungry artists, so we lapped up the opportunity. Some of it made the final cut as well.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

Be loose in front of the camera and remember that modelling isn’t just in the face, it’s in the body and mind also. They are all connected and there all affect one another. Network. Network. Network. You are a brand, and a brand needs to be promoted.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?

I love meeting new people and picking up new skills, so I want to work with every type of brand and collaboration available to me.
