Threw out my life of growing up it's been tough and unfair for me, I've been bullied Threw out my school years and out of school ours from so-called friends, for how I looked and how I was, I was different to the other kids as I suffered from mental illnesses, it was tough dealing with them let alone violent and vicious bullies! I was always told I was very, very ugly and that no girl would go near me with a barge pole, because of all this I would go home and isolate myself away from my family... and that's how I developed depression, yes I self-harmed I did stupid things... I acted out so wrongly I got in bothered with the law & ended up with a criminal record, I was misled by fake friends to steal from people, I didn't know it was wrong because of my mental illnesses I could tell right from wrong. But anyway after high school had passed I went to college, well I say college I went to a place called Banardose Training centre which is also a charity, where they also specialised in certain training courses such as catering and hospitality, and that's what I went for, I passed my course but the best thing I did for that charity was said £56,000 from a speech I gave about my life and how Banardose helped me, I was even on TV for them and in magazines as well as the radio! One of the greatest achievements in my life, I love doing my bit for charity, anyway after I passed my course and moved on in life o hot my first catering job, it was great till I got slashed in the arm with a bread knife, now I have a fear of working as a chef again... because of this I quit the job and I went down a dark road where alcohol & drugs entered my life, I was bad I became homeless I stole to survive! Bad, bad times! Then all of a sudden I had a chance in life I found my soul mate... she took me in, what I didn't know is what darkness waited down the path for me, in this relationship I was beaten almost killed, mental tortured, it was horrifying and because of this event I tried to take my own life twice and thank God I failed! Otherwise, I wouldn't be here, and I wouldn't be a father to my beautiful little boy where I'm now in a very happy and stable relationship! I got into modelling three years ago as I changed the way I looked I looked after myself better and I've never looked so good! I was approached by friends that I should be a model, so that's exactly what I did and now I laugh at all the bullies and say to myself look at me now, you were all wrong about me, and you have all made me a stronger human being.
Darious, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passions in life are friends, reptiles and my son! I started working due to friends approaching saying I should be a model o took it on board, and three years ago I searched out a photographer, built up my portfolio, same year I got agency signed and from what I've heard that is good. My aspirations in life are my friends they keep me going and I look up to them!
Who is your inspiration in life Darious? How do you keep inspired?
When I first started modelling I inspired myself then I came across a model called Jord Liddel, well built good looking, fantastic model and I said I want to be like him! I'm not there yet though.
We all make mistakes Darious; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I've always had positivity from everyone I've worked too, I don't have any regrets.
Darious, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
When it comes to my clients and especially in groups, I make myself stand out hugely, like a sore thumb! I get their attention and anything they want I'll do it within reason!
Please tell us Darious, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I've always been strategic; I'm very creative with my facial expressions, I use my face for emotion mainly my eyes, as that's what makes me stand out more than other models!
Darious, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
To be fair, I've never had to persuade anyone I've worked with we always go 50/50 I like for myself and the photographer to get what we both want.
Darious, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
The two proudest moments in my modelling career is getting agency signed in the first year of modelling and being published in Dark Beauty Magazine.
Darious, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I've had thrown very creative shoots, a zombie shoot, representing what smoking does to the human body and of course a shoot put in the woods like I was a forest man! They were all very exciting and nothing difficult about really.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Be yourself, look for inspiration but be yourself, make things your own, that's what makes you stand out! Be careful especially younger models do your research on photographers unsure ask other photographers you know or other models. Enjoy yourself, and be creative and you'll be a great model.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm looking to collaborate with clothing, jewellery & product stores.
