I am from Birmingham Alabama and studied Civil Engineering at The University of Alabama. I am an extraordinary goofy guy who loves and has the passion for photography and the entertainment lifestyle. I love event photography where I capture the nuances of a fun environment and how people react in that environment. I also do acting I have done background work for major films and TV shows. I have been featured in two stage plays. Life is what we make of it and how we react when things get rough. I am a prime example of the struggles of life, and I would like for my story to be an inspiration to all.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Christian. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I have a twin sister named Ashley. I am from a small city of Birmingham named Fairfield. I am a very goofy and funny person who loves to make the environment a very carefree environment. I played the trumpet from 6th grade to high school. I played football in high school and was going to try out for the football team for my college until I tore my Achilles Tendon which crushed my dream of playing in NFL. I made the National Honor Roll my senior year in high school. I wrote a poem named "Doubtful" that was well known around Birmingham which I wrote in 5 minutes. Anything that I do I try to be the best at it no matter what it takes. I love to prove people wrong.
Christian, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?
I am very passionate about becoming a success story and inspiration to others. I want my success to put my positions to help others to reach their full potential and find their passion to reach their goals and accomplish a successful life. It's funny how I started as a photographer. When I first moved to Atlanta, I started doing background work for different films, and TV shows and instantly fell in love. I woke up one day ready to get serious about acting so I started asking people that I know that are photographers to shoot me a reel to send to agents, but unfortunately everyone never came through for me. So I decided to buy my camera and do it myself. I took the money I got from my last check at my job that only paid minimum wage and bought my camera and did not care if it took my whole check to do it. After buying my camera I was advised by my friends and family to do photography to make some side money, so I did, and the rest was history.
Who is your inspiration in life Christian? How do you keep inspired?
I am inspired by a few people in life, and they are my mother Cassandra Smith my, grandmother Johnnie Banks, my aunt Veronica Cox, and my twin sister Ashley Edwards. They all have been very supportive yet hard on me because they know and wants me to reach my full potential. Even though they get on my nerves sometimes, I still love and thank them for being in my case.
We all make mistakes Christian; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Photographer; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
A situation that I would handle different would be the time Ceaser Emanuel tattooed Rich Homie Quan at Black Ink Atlanta and me being the Black Ink Atlanta's photographer I should have been Johnny on the spot and snapped a few pictures of Ceaser tattooing him, but I did not. I learned that no matter what takes every opportunity and run with it because in life we do not always get opportunities back.
Christian, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
Well, I take everybody's opinions and needs into consideration and take the pictures accordingly to the environment and situation.
Please tell us, Christian, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?
Well for me was just to keep snapping keep snapping, and keep snapping to where I perfect my craft as a photographer.
Christian, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I was able to persuade someone to give their all and not give up just because it was hard.
Christian, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
The proudest moment I have had as a photographer so far was when I took pictures for Black Ink's pop-up party and next thing I know I was featured on Bad Girls Club fan page out of nowhere which was a shock to me.
Christian, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I had to make a studio our of sheets and stable lights and a flash.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?*
The advise I can give is that when you want to be successful in anything practice makes perfect. So keep shooting every chance you get and network as much as you can because you never know who you would run into and who would run across your work. Also always stay prepared.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I would love to collaborate with fashion talents, music brands, and any models that would love to take their career to new heights.
Now for the best part Christian! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
