Alright, now for the interview! Firstly Charlie, how would you best describe yourself?
Photographer

Charlie. Tell us ABOUT yourself.
This section will be used for the listing on our website. Please see sample below. You can skip this.
I’m Charlie Luccini, Director and Photographer from Kinshasa, currently based in France.

I’m from an artistic family, the father was a singer, mother uses to create clothes, brothers and sisters were dancers, and one of my sisters was a model.
I started my career in the music industry as a singer/producer, then I used that money to sign up in different art schools (Music, Drama, Cinema). The film school is where I started to get into photography; I always kept a side project as a photographer while directing my school films. My first visual capture topic was “Dancing and movement” then I met the New York Fashion scene and fell in love with fashion.

I’ve been the art director for DISNEY CHANNEL (France), I’ve been branding Manager for WORLD OF DANCE (L.A) and photographer for fashion designer STEVIE BOY (New York), but my favourite is “BEST DIRECTOR” at LOS ANGELES FILM AWARD for my first short film.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Charlie. Tell us about yourself, why you are passionate about what you do, and your journey so far.
Each project I get into opens up a new challenge.
I always try to be ambitious whatever the circumstances, even I have to adapt to my limits I’ll always try to push them to their most extent.
Project submissions have always been the toughest part of my career, in music, aswell as in film or photography. At your beginnings, the number of NO's exceeded the number of YES’es, so you work hard to balance’em out. You never know who’s judging, how, why they pick you or someone else instead, but at some point, you realize that each contest has their own standard. Since then, for each NO, I go back to study the standard, and once I master it, I come back just to break it and create a new trend. After that my first awards started to show up and all the NO’s become history (and the lesson to be learned).

Keep interviewing me!

What are your goals and how do you see yourself progressing in the field Charlie?
My dream spot is to be the first fashion director to win an oscar (No pressure No motivation)

How do you communicate with people Charlie? Are you patient? Are you friendly? How open are you to clients’ requirements?
I communicate mostly through email, but I'd rather talk to people. I'm open to clients' requirements as long as they meet my creative and business directions

If you had to do it over again, what would you change Charlie?
Nothing... and I'd do it over again with no hesitation!

Who is your hero Charlie, and how have they helped you get to where you are?
Michael Jackson is my hero; he gave me the motivation to understand artistic direction.

How important are creative education courses Charlie? Have you taken any, and did you find them useful?
I think it's very useful when it comes to master your tools and understand the basics of your field. I've taken many, but I think anyone can lead an artistic revolution without it.

Do you have any tips for someone who is just starting out in the industry?
Study your basics, study the history of your field, learn from the bests and the ones before you. Use internet smart. Don't avoid making mistakes, fail and improve your way to get back on track. Never give up!

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm looking for collaboration with inspired fashion designers, hairstylists and make-up artists in Paris, New York, Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam, London

Please add any photo credits for the photos you uploaded so that everybody can get recognised.
