State / Region
My name is Carmen Muley, and I'm from Spain. I've been living in Hangzhou for almost four years now, and I work as a freelance model and as a casting director and model manager for AFSI (African Fashion Show International). I have worked for international brands like Aliexpress, Clinique and Skechers among others, participated in the Shanghai Black Fashion week and worked in Sri Lanka as a model too. I have experience in photo shoots, catwalks, events, live streamings and TVCs
Carmen, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Model?
I love travelling and being a model. I want to keep on working on this internationally and would love to create my brand at some point. I started working as a model more than 10 years ago when I got scouted by an agency in my hometown
Who is your inspiration in life Carmen? How do you stay inspired as a Model?
I'm inspired by any person who's taken the risk to do what they love. I work as a model in China, and the market is very competitive, but modelling is something that I enjoy doing, so I'm always working hard and trying my best to improve my skills as a model and to look physically good!
We all make mistakes Carmen; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I stopped working as a model for a few years before I started again, and if I could go back in time, I would have never stopped.
Carmen, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
Easygoing. I can adapt to their needs.
Please tell us, Carmen, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
Most of my friends and family live very far away from me, so I usually take the time to visit once a year. The rest of the time I'm working and networking!
Carmen, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I worked as a Model Manager for African Fashion Show International (AFSI), and one of the designers had a lineup and a choreography that didn't really fit, so I managed to convince them to do it the way I thought would look better, showcasing the outfits in a better way and would be more appropriate for the show
Carmen, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
I'm proud of every moment I've worked as a model, but I am very proud to have had to work for both Aliexpress and Clinique more than once, a catwalk for the Shanghai Black Fashion Week and Manage the African Fashion Show International in Hangzhou
Carmen, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I worked in Sri Lanka, the team let me choose my outfits for the photoshoots I had in different hotels! I loved I had the chance to choose what to wear!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Work hard, chase your dreams and practice a lot your walk and your poses!
