Carmelita. Tell us ABOUT yourself.
I help men and women identify and portray their personal style, while maintaining continuity of their image. I over 10 years of sales and business consulting experience working with Fortune 500 companies, and I am trailblazing my way as a celebrity stylist to the rich and famous. My impeccable eye for fashion, coupled with my professional cosmetology background; this allows me to use my knowledge of color analysis and shapes to accurately identify my client’s best image. My business approach to fashion lies in the needs of my clients. I am an expert in wardrobe consulting as well as hair and makeup. My goal is to improve the confidence of my clients and help them present their best image to the world. After consulting with top executives, I believe your image should say who you are without having to speak. Image Consulting is something I knew I wanted to do very early in my youth. As a child my father would often say, “all you are concern with is how you look”. He was right, but what he didn’t know was that I also was concerned with how others looked as well.

I am the owner and founder of Mirror Image Consulting, I began consulting men and women on their image 8 years ago. Finding amazing pieces and putting together looks and styles that thrusts my clients outside of their norm, helping them exude a new level of confidence. The positive reactions encouraged me to further build my brand and bring more incredible looks to people. Mirror Image Consulting was then born in 2015 while completing my hours in beauty school. I completed my cosmetology license at Paul Mitchell The School Dallas. In addition, I also have a Bachelor of Science Degree in Biology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. However, my true passion has always been fashion, hair and makeup. My degree has helped me understand the importance of health and fitness, as I believe they are the essentials of a well-balanced life and together are compliments of fashion.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Carmelita. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I have the ability to sway the fashion opinions of my clients through a thorough consultation and color analysis. I help my clients tap into their inner persona and mirror that image on the outside.

Carmelita, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Stylist?

I aspire to grow my image consulting business to reach clients that appear on the celebrity A-list. I desire to become an employer to help other people reach their goals. My passion is fashion, I believe fashion interprets ones personality. There is no right or wrong in fashion, therefore there are no limitations to what fashion can create. That is the true beauty of fashion.

Who is your inspiration in life Carmelita? How do you keep inspired?

My family is my inspiration, they push me beyond my own measure. My mom is my why, she is the reason I continued to grind to build my business! I will not give up in fear of disappointing my family. I have never been more inspired then now. Waking up everyday also inspires me to know I have another opportunity to reach my goals. I have never taken life for granted.

We all make mistakes Carmelita, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Fashion Stylist , you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I am an understanding and compromising person, especially when it come to business. I have realized I can't do it all by myself. There was a time when my assistant offered to help me pull clothes for a client and I insisted that I had it covered. My can do attitude got the best of me and I completely have the wrong client profile for the client I was pulling looks for. When I deliver the clothes to my client I was embarrassed because none of the items were even close to what we discuss. At that moment I realizes the value of my assistant. I had to apologize to not only my client but my assistant as well. This mistake cost me a substantial amount of time and money.

Carmelita ,when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Stylist, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

I rely heavily on my team. We all have a job to do and together we move as a unit. I personally take the time to screen of each of my clients and set the expectation of my services. I am upfront and candid about I how conduct my business. I educated them of the importance of working with not only myself but my team ad well. I let them know as the owner of this company I wear multiple hats and ask that they trust the knowledge and experience of my staff.

Please tell us Carmelita, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Stylist?

Before I started my own image and personal styling company i started as an intern for a firm. I had gain enough experience to break away and become a competitor in the fashion industry. I had to be strategic in how I decided to build my own business without jeopardizing any relationships
