Every since I was very young growing up in a small town of Winchester, Virginia. I always knew I was destined for bigger things. When I move to Florida, I joined John Robert Powers acting and modeling school. I continued schooling for a year. Sadly, some family emergencies came up, and I had to put my dream on hold. Fast forward about 10 years, I am ready to fulfill my dream.
I am not one to let anyone down! I am a hard dedicated worker and I will never give up until I reach what I came here for.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Brandon. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I grew up ina very small town in Winchester Virginia. At the age of 12, my parents got divorced. As a young child, it was devastating. We moved to Jacksonville FL which st the time, was a culture shock. I didn’t really fit in at school as I was bullied, pushed into lockers, kicked while standing in the lunch line and walking down the hallway. Being a homosexual male didn’t help either. I didn’t let that get me down as I always knew I was destined for bigger things. When I got into highscool, I joined my drama class, and also signed up for modeling and acting classes at John Robert Powers. I was on my way to success until I had to put my dreams on hold due to a family emergency. Here we are almost 10 years later, I’ve always felt as my life wasn’t complete. Knowing I gave up on my dream, I decided to go full swing into fulfilling it once more. This time, I will let nothing get in my way. With a wonderful supporting husband and amazing family behind me, I will succeed!
Brandon, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My passion is to make people feel great. I love to make people laugh and smile. Modeling to me tells a story, or shows a different side of a person that someone might not see every day. I started off as a model when I was scouted by Dweight agnor Model search NYC. We went for my sister and his scouts ended up scouting me instead of her. I debated for days about doing a photo shoot, at that time I was only wanting to become an actor. Boy, I’m glad I did the shoot. It opened my eyes.
Who is your inspiration in life Brandon? How do you keep inspired?
My mother. Growing up, she has a tough life. Seeing her mother pass away at a young age, going through abussive home after home, being homeless and having a horrible relationship with my father, she never made us feel unsafe. She raised 5 children by herself while sometimes working 2 jobs. During her divorse with my father, she struggled a lot but managed to never skip a beat and pulled through. She is the strongest person I know. I hope that one day, I can give her everything that she ever wanted in life. She truly is the person that helps me push through.
We all make mistakes Brandon, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model , you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Since I am limited in experience, I have only done one portfolio shoot which was in 2009. I was young, and nervous. There were tons of experience models around me. I remember as I was getting my makeup done, a well experienced model walked passed me and told me that I did not belong here. I simply replied back, well neither does your hammy down clothing.
I felt awful, and as an adult now, I wish I just smiled and waived.
Brandon ,when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
Currently, I work full time in a very high end apartment community. I manager over 400 units which is over 2,000 residents on a daily basis. I am extremely good at organization. My mother always said to me, you’re a star and they come to see you!
Please tell us Brandon, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
When I was with dweight agnor, I had to walk in front of some of the top modeling agencies. The outfit that I picked out to wear sadly ended up getting a stain on it. I quickly ran to find scissors and cut the shirt to look as if it were designed a certain way. Slate model in Orlando actually loved it and I met with them a month later
Brandon, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I’m a very strategic person. I run into this issue in a daily basis. I’m a it is what it is type of person and sometimes you have to take risks.
Brandon please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share to everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest accomplishment was when I was interviews by slate models. Sadly, I couldn’t pursue anything further with them due to my family emergency
Brandon, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I was younger, and I walked across that stage, I felt as if I was unstoppable. I felt as if I brought another look to the table. My work is creative due to my since of expression. My goal is to put a smile on everyone face
What advice would you give to the people who wants to be successful as a Model?
Never ever give up. Follow your heart and don’t let anyone ever tell you that you’re not pretty enough or thin enough or y’all enough. Some of the hardest things I heard as a teenager trying to get into the industry was “you have acne, you need to fix it”. I look back today and I realize, I’m human. There is nothing to fix about just being yourself. If anything, that what people should want.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
That would be amazing. My goal is to get recognized for my many talents. I would love to collaborate with cologne brands, shoe brands, or even coach, express, banana republic.
I have not been able to have my professional head shots done yet. These photos were taken in my at home studio
