I think outside of the box; I'm always looking for new ways to push the envelope with my clients!
Brandon, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Hair Stylist?
I'm a graduate of the Temple: a Paul Mitchell partner school. I discovered my love for hair at a very young age (thanks Barbie)I'm very passionate about making people feel good about themselves.
Who is your inspiration in life Brandon? How do you keep inspired?
I'm inspired by my peers and other creative minds. I keep inspired by constantly educating myself with new trends and innovative styles.
We all make mistakes Brandon; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Hair Stylist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Creative people are all so complex! We are all passionate about what we do, at the end of the day, it's best to put egos aside. We are stronger together!
Brandon, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Hair Stylist, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I make sure to give each client THEIR time with me. I never juggle clients. One at a time, they each deserve undisturbed time.
Please tell us, Brandon, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Hair Stylist?
Working photoshoots or fashion shows with multiple models can be challenging. It's important to work together with fellow hairdressers to get things done. Timing is key to strategy; you need to plan and time yourself to ensure things go as planned!
Brandon, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I think my work speaks for itself, I'm surrounded by so many talented hairstylists all the time, but I feel like my work is persuasive on its own.
Brandon, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Hair Stylist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I won 'Best Stylist' in 2012 in Washington DC best of gay DC. It was such an amazing moment, being celebrated by the gay community in the nation's capital!
Brandon, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Having full creative control is amazing. It's exciting to allow yourself to think beyond the normal moulds we see every day. The difficult part is executing it to match the vision in your head!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Hair Stylist?
Keep learning, keep growing, and listen to your gut!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I think collaboration is pivotal to the success of every person in the beauty industry. I'm a 'yes' guy! I'd never turn down an opportunity to work with another creative person!
