Bluddy Blouson focuses on artfully designed shirts that celebrate youth, the existentially absurd, playful incredulity, and the beautiful complexities of this planet. Our aim is to create aesthetically modern yet authentically worn-in articles of clothing that you'll want to wear today & tomorrow. 

Our textile innovations are rooted in sustainable practices, and the shirts themselves use some of the finest fabrics for softness & durability and incorporate organic & recycled materials wherever possible. More than 80% of Bluddy Blouson's garments are made with sustainable materials & processes. 

Lastly, please take note that the Bluddy Blouson collection is meticulously designed, printed & delivered from Los Angeles, California, where we like to wear tees all year-long. 

Our readers would love to get to know you more Bluddy. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Paul Hwang, the brand's creative director, is an artist and filmmaker and has done much of the in between. He has lived and worked throughout Asia and the United States, and lets his multi-faceted experiences inspire the aesthetic of the brand.

 

Bluddy, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Label?

From illustration to design to animation to filmmaking, all these mediums helped to influence the eventual development of garments.

Who is your inspiration in life Bluddy? How do you keep inspired?

Inspiration arises daily. Bluddy Blouson tends not to take direct inspiration from the fashion world, but the world in its entirety.

We all make mistakes Bluddy; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Fashion Label, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
The brand is just getting started, and mistakes will surely be plentiful along the way. We do not see them as crutches but guides along the path.

Bluddy , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Label, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

We firstly look towards ourselves and ask if the things we are creating would make our lives better. If the answer is YES, we keep on keeping on.

Please tell us Bluddy, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Label?

Developing the Inaugural Collection has been a joy and a continuously rolling effort. We are not chained to seasonal releases, and every product frames its own story. 

Bluddy, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Label. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want with share to everyone. What is it and why?
The recent launch of Bluddy Blouson's Inaugural Collection, entitled Existential Honorable Mention, draws from Creative Director Paul Hwang’s inspirations as an illustrator, interpreting and distilling fears and ponderings from adolescence into adulthood.

The designs promise a prodigious expression of bold colours, hypnotic patterns and gestural illustrations that are layered with magic and meaning – from abstract expressionism to psychedelia and the occult. 

These aesthetics are complemented by fine craftsmanship and authentically worn-in textiles that create soulful shirts.


Bluddy, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I think the brand itself celebrates some important things that we might take for granted. Things such as our youth, the existentially absurd, playful incredulity, and the beautiful complexities of the planet in which we all live. Having these ideas engrained, I believe we can create products that stand out creatively.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Label?

Listen to your own strong & unique voice and not the noise.
