Well, I have always had a love for modeling. And dreamed as a young girl of becoming a model anytime family photos were taken. I finally got to fulfil that wish when I took a chance and went on a casting call for a reality tv casting for modeling called "Model Material". Much to my surprise, I was cast. That was a fun and eye-opening experience. Then I was in a horror film cast as a zombie hooker. My mom was so proud, lol. But it was fun, and there I further realized my love for acting as well. Since then I have gone on to do lots of extra work in movies and commercials, I work as a brand ambassador, an artists model, I've been in calendars and had been printed on canvas as a body paint model and featured in art galleries. I have done runway work, lifestyle and boudoir modeling. I love this adventure and will continue to follow my heart. The more artistic work I do, the more alive I feel. I'm currently working with an artist Leo Arbeznik who's work is featured in blue Egg Gallery in Miami, and I am hoping to be a part of Art Basel this year in December.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Birdie. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I think a lot of people are surprises to find out my back ground is in raising horses and competitive riding. I did hunter/jumpers then switched to three phase eventing. I grew up on a horse farm and was always competing. I also am a Vet. Tech. For exotic animals and birds. It's a very rewarding job. I feel like a big part of my job is client education. I want to bring awareness that exotics are a lot of specialized care and most do not belong as pets unless people have the time and money it takes to properly care for such creatures.
Birdie, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I think I hit upon this somewhat in the describe you section. But as far as passion and aspirations. I am very passionate about animals care and rescue. I hope one day to open my rescue facility. I as hope to do more runways and fashion catalogue work. I also would like to focus more on acting again, as I've not pursued that in a while.
Who is your inspiration in life Birdie? How do you keep inspired?
One of my biggest inspirations is seeing people follow their dreams. Any stories that have that expression get to me. I'm a dreamer, but I was raised to be a realist. So I feel like I'm always trying to walk a fine line of keeping my head down and working hard, have a stable life but also I dream and do artistic, creative adventures, and I am so grateful for all the projects I am a part of. I feel very blessed as I continue to pursue my life with modeling and acting, everyone I have encountered has been supportive and positive.
We all make mistakes Birdie, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
Honestly, the only thing I wish I could do differently would have been to pursue this all a lot younger. I tried when I was younger, telling my parent that I wanted to be in drama class and chorus class, and I secretly did a modeling school in middle school years with my best friend at the time, but my parent found out and put a stop to it. I wish I would have made more of a stand at pursing what my heart longed for. I wish I would have started earlier.
Birdie , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?
Well, for one thing, I always make sure I don't over book myself. But I am very good at time management and always make sure I am organized. Life does get busy and hectic, but for my passion I make it work and always present my best self.
Please tell us Birdie, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
Well, there was a time where I had to be in Miami for a shoot in the morning and Vero for Brand Ambassador work in the evening, and I had to be up extra early because it seems I always run into bad traffic in Miami. Who doesn't right? But it's about two hours south of my home so I have to plan and try to give myself more than enough time to get there, I would rather be early than late. But anyways I had to make sure I had all supplies packed and ready to go.
Birdie, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I'm nit sure how to answer this one. I'm pretty laid back and easy going and up for any adventure. I don't think I've ever had to persuade anyone at work.
Birdie, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I would say one of my proudest moments was modellings for a wig company that make quality wigs for cancer patients. They pride themselves on making realistic, natural and beautiful products.
Birdie, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I feel like I always get to be creative with my work. But especially with the body painting, I can suggest colours and poses and ideas for backgrounds.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
Find your niche, find what makes your heart sing. And do that!!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes! Am always looking to collaborate. I would love to do more runway and magazine work.
