The BhavyJ Designs collection offers a variety of unique, versatile pieces that are sure to bolster any wardrobe. The BhavyJ line evokes a sense of feminism, class, and sophistication for the strong and independent women who wear them. Some of our designs incorporate beautiful imported fabric from Belgium and are paired with quality denim and other fabrics.

Three designs are part of our denim/floral line (just in time for the spring/summer season), while an additional three designs encompass the formal line which is well-suited for year-round wear. In addition, we offer a line of hair accessories that can accompany any outfit as you choose.

BHAVANA, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Designer?

My passion is art, specifically fashion, but I have always had a calling in life to work in healthcare, and I am currently doing that as a Pharmacist. I feel so lucky that I have an opportunity to be a part of both of my passions in life. Not many people are able to do that.

Who is your inspiration in life BHAVANA? How do you stay inspired as a Designer?

My inspiration in life is my parents. They have taught me how to stay humble and the reward of hard work. They are immigrants to this country and started with little money. They supported three children and given us the best gift, which was an education. They have always said that if you have a good education, you can do anything.

We all make mistakes BHAVANA; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?

A mistake that I made in the past is not getting something in writing. I loaned something to someone, and the product ended up getting lost. No responsibility on the other party was negligent. From that point, my best friend is contracted!

BHAVANA, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?

I love working and meeting new clients. I consider myself a person who is very easy to get along with, and most people would agree. I try to work with my clients and meet their fashion needs. I want them to have a great buying experience with my brand.

Please tell us BHAVANA, how do you prioritize work, social life, friends, and family?

All the above are very important to me, and I feel that there should be a healthy balance between them. How I prioritize amongst them is I see what is pressing at the moment. If I have a deadline for work, then it gets moved up the list, if there is a family event that I need to attend, then I make time for it. It all comes down to balancing and keeping a good calendar.

BHAVANA, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

I was able to persuade a colleague to sew something a different way to create a new look on a garment. I sewed it and showed it to them, and they agreed it looked nice.

BHAVANA, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Designer.

My proudest moment would have to be the day I launched the BhavyJ Designs online shop. It was one moment in my journey, but it represented all my hard work and dreams of selling my clothing line to the world.

BHAVANA, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

I was able to be creative when I created my hair accessories, which are headbands. It was exciting because I wanted to somehow utilize Indian trims in my garments but then had an idea to convert them into an accessory. I had to think about how to create a clean looking accessory that was durable and still looked neat. I tried different products and finally was able to come up with a smart way to sew the headbands. It was a great achievement at the end and now are best sellers!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Designer?

My advice is to continue to persevere no matter what obstacles are thrown at you. If you have a vision or a dream, then stick with it... Your hard work will pay off even when it doesn't seem like things are working out. Surround yourself with a good support system because they will be your rock.
