My creativity, and passion for colour and soft flowing fabrics.
Athena, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Fashion Label?
My passion is designing and making clothes. I would like to be successful at this. It started with a need to create clothing that I liked and that I could wear. I didn't see anything I liked in stores, and whatever I did fancy, I couldn't afford.
Who is your inspiration in life Athena? How do you keep inspired?
The environment and the colours that encompass it, nature, other designers, textile.
We all make mistakes Athena; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Fashion Label; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
When I launched my first line, I think I made too much because I felt that I had to prove to people that I was capable of designing/ making EVERYTHING from jumpers to dresses, even underwear. The more experience I had, the more I learned that it's all about simplicity and the basics and not a lot of fuss.
Athena, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Fashion Label, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
By determining whether their need is based on a special occasion and thus whether they have a specific deadline.
Please tell us, Athena, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Fashion Label?
Creating your own business is a very strategic and time-consuming process, and it's very important that you are organised and efficient. There are so many details that go into starting your fashion line that it's important to prioritise what should come first and so on
Athena, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
When I paired a duster, I made with different types of clothes to help the client see that it can be worn in different ways and not just purchased for a special event. My customers want timeless every day, high-quality items; thus it's important to show them the item's versatility
Athena, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Fashion Label. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
When I learned how many of my dusters and slipped dresses werePurchases - I was so happy. When I started to receive positive feedback from clients
Athena, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
It's exciting and difficult every day. As a designer, you aim to not only love what you do but to have your clientele keep coming.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Fashion Label?
Be persistent! Be a shark!
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm always open to fashion shoot l, editorial collabs, runway collabs, styling - anything!
