I enjoy exploring the world, meeting a plethora of people with different outlooks/backgrounds, and paradigm-shifting epiphanies.
From my early formative years, as I watched countless iconic movies and pored over literary classics, I have been enchanted by the power of the written and spoken word.
I say, stop striving to be perfect. Let go of the social narrative they feed you and step out of the matrix.
My life's greatest epiphany-
"There's no reason you're not enough."
Theatre and Cinema is a potent, unifying force in a world polarised by political ideologies, economic policies and religious leanings and I believe the strength and ability to connect to an audience gives performing artists a unique opportunity not just to provide entertainment but materially influence today's society. This has been my principal motivation to choose Acting as a career.
I started at an early stage with school plays and fondly remember participating in a wide array of regional theatre festivals. Several productions later, my passion led to getting selected as the President of the Drama and Theatre Society.
Through these amateur productions and a passion for music, I gained invaluable insights to voice improvisations, movements and being a voracious reader; I pored over countless books and literature on the evolution of cinema and theatre as a medium. It also influenced my choosing graduation in Media Studies.
While my initial experiences in today's global media structure laid the perfect foundation to understand and appreciate the nuances of television and film production, much bigger learning came through parallel interests and activities within the Theatre and Movie circles, where I acted in several local productions and assisted in the creation of a feature film.
At this stage, I realised that my deepest interests lay in the enchanting power of language and Cinema and by doing the multi-cultural, globally orientated Acting Program at the International Academy of Film and Television (Hong Kong), I was exposed to hitherto unknown facets of acting and film production.
I recently also essayed my first significant role in the award-winning feature film '1 Angry Black Man', a related story and wonderfully tireless production I am immensely proud of.
What began as an idea slowly turned into a passion and I realized that my foundation in Acting could move to an altogether different realm by doing the One Year Conservatory at T Schreiber Studio, one of the country's most reputable and prestigious acting schools, under the tutelage of teachers possessing immense levels of insight and experience in the business. As an actor, nothing gives me a bigger rush, than the thrill of showcasing my art, and inciting emotions in so many different people, while doing what I love. For me- Art indeed is life and vice versa!!
