ABOUT

What's unique about me is that I have a competitive cheerleading background. So stints during films and commercials are an adrenaline rush to me. I was also one of the first male cheerleaders for Š—…Pop Warner Youth Cheer and Football'

Aquile, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Model?

I aspire to be successful and comfortable. I don't need to be super rich, but lord knows it would be amazing. I aspire to live my life to the fullest with no regrets, meaning if I die today I know in my heart that I did or started everything I set out to do. Modelling was always the one career that I was passionate about, so one day I went out on a limb and registered for a model audition that was coming to my city, on FB. At first it seemed like a scam, like everything else on Facebook, but I thought Š—“what the hell, what's the worst that could happen.....nothing?Š— So when I showed up to the audition there were over 600 models auditioning and they were only picking the top 25 models, and to my surprise I was chosen. After that chapter in January, I had until the company's Fashion in June to get my portfolio together. The fashion show had influencers as well as agencies for acting and modelling in attendance. With that being said the average model walks 3 times in that show, 4 if a designer liked your walk, and long behold this short guy from the Bay Area got chosen to walk a fourth time. After the show, we had a called back from agencies and little did I know that I would get called as having the 4th most callbacks, out of all of us models. At that point, I was shaking In my boots because I didn't know there were placements and I got top 5? Let alone being under 5'10. Of course, I got a lot of no's because of my height, but I took every Š—“noŠ— as fuel to my personality which helped them realize I was perfect for commercial and print. After one model scout told me that there are not many ways to get into runway being under 5'10, but it is a way to work around it and wiggle your way in there, and best believe I'm taking every opportunity and working around every flaw to get to where I wanna be.

Who is your inspiration in life Aquile? How do you stay inspired as a Model?

My biggest inspiration is my mother. As a single mom she has sacrificed countless time s so that I could have everything I want and need, all while having lupus, which is an auto-immune disease which causes her to have a weak immune system making her get sick as easy as a kid can. But she never let being sick stop her from supporting my sister and me. At one point she even let her car get repossessed so that she could pay for me to cheer as a kid. So yes I will work to success so my mom could have everything she wanted to give me, which was security and happiness.

We all make mistakes Aquile; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?

I had hooked up with my best friends older brother.

Aquile, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?

Very professional and to the point

Please tell us Aquile, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?

Well, I work I in retail, anyone who knows retail knows it's not always fun or the best job. But I work as an assistant manager at Š—…Tillys' which causes me to work at least 40 hours a week. And, sadly I don't have any set days off, so I hang out with friends and go out only when I have a day off, or if I'm off early enough in the day. You could say I'm terrible at juggling work, friends, social life, and family. All the family I need to see daily lives with me, and my other family I see about every 2 weeks for a family party or something.

Aquile, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

Well, at my location I'm particular I have worked for the company for the longest time(4 years). Anyways, since I have the notoriety And time that I've worked there, most people value my opinion over the next. So when I have a coworker working on visuals for merchandising, I'd let them know that Š—“it might look better this way or it will sell more if you put it hereŠ— and they usually tell me Š—“your rightŠ—

Aquile please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.

My proudest accomplishment would be getting the 4th most callbacks out of the other 100 models that participated in the same fashion show.

Aquile, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

Sometimes I write short films. I was once asked to write one for a theatre class, and I was able to let my mind come to life. It was exciting to see real people rehearsing what I wrote and thought up in my head.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?

You've got to have patience, motivation and determination because you will hear no more than yes. But, you have to know what you want and have a plan. Last but not least, DO NOT compare yourself to other models you see on social media!! Different agencies select different models based on their features, so if you don't have something one agency likes, then you keep pushing and don't change anything about yourself, because one day the one feature about you say Š—…NextModels' doesn't like, but you submit to Š—…whilimena' and they love what Š—…Next' said they didn't like about you. Your self-esteem will skyrocket.
