Our readers would love to get to know you more Anna-Marie. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
Since 2010 I have specialised in modelling millinery; high-end couture hats.
My love for hats has to lead me to study millinery part-time and so I was able to launch my brand last year which I am very proud of.
I have recently been hired to return to modelling yoga posture for a sportswear brand which I am looking forward to doing in the next month or two.
Anna-Marie, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I've always been very lucky with modelling having been 'headhunted' and 'scouted' in London, UK. Especially in the Camden Town area.
One of my favourite assignments was modelling after-hours for a jewellery shop in Stables Market called Sacred Spirit. I was also lucky enough to make friends with and model for Bryan Adams. I think Bryan's black and white photography is inspirational.
I put my modelling career on the back-burner due to a boyfriend at the time disagreeing with it. Within a month of that relationship being over, I heard from an old friend and remembered what it's like to be supported unconditionally whatever you choose to do in life. That's now about two months ago, and my modelling career has leapt back on track.
My passion and aspirations at the moment are therefore really simple, just taking things one step at a time. Hope I can dedicate some time and maybe a photo-shoot to my friend who doesn't know how much they're helping me right now.
Who is your inspiration in life Anna-Marie? How do you stay inspired as Model?
I attend adult gymnastics and trampolining, that's a constant inspiration. There's a few good training buddies and mates that are positive and uplifting to hang out with. I feel my most inspired when I get sent direct messages of my mates tricking videos and samplers.
The music that they share and load on the videos is also inspirational; it's all fresh, it gets you in the right mood and mindset.
In contrast, I do enjoy looking back through vintage prints and posters. Do I love Brigitte Bardot, who doesn't?
We all make mistakes Anna-Marie, we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I wish I had been brave enough to either have split up with my boyfriend sooner or been stronger to ask for more commitment rather than wasting my time. I wish I had got married and had children, I don't want to leave it too late, and of course, I would want to be able to return to trampolining asap.
It's so sad, I feel like the last 6 and a half years of my life have been almost pointless.
But I do believe in karma, so maybe it had to happen to get to this point in life?
Anna-Marie, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?
Fun, positive, easy going, flexible and always will reach a compromise.
Please tell us Anna-Marie, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
I'm really lucky with my time at the moment. It's the summer so work is mostly PR which I can fit in and around friends and family. PR is also a great part of my social life. I attend a lot of events such as modelling hats at Royal Ascot. Always such a blast of fun. I love sharing my experiences with like-minded people.
If I can stay on top of my PR for the summer, it should set me up for a well-balanced winter. I'm a mindful person so I won't be taking it for granted.
Anna-Marie, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I think I must be lucky. I have never really needed to 'persuade' someone to see things my way at work. I think my open-minded, positive but realistic demeanour has always helped people see the light at the end of the tunnel before needing to be persuaded.
Anna-Marie, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model.
Modelling for Bryan Adams was just the most wonderful experience. He's such a friendly and easy going person. It was just a please to work with him.
Anna-Marie, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
As I mentioned before, I have gone from modelling hats to making some of my own.
Making and modelling my hats has been exciting and challenging. Millinery is not an easy skill, it requires a lot of patience, and a calm, organic approach as things/designs don't always go exactly to plan.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?*
Focus on your main style, what you feel most comfortable in. Feeling good in your skin allows your aura to shine through and others will see that.
