I am a fashion blogger that teaches 20-something women how to shop for quality pieces to add to their wardrobe, how to shop for all kinds of fashion, and inspire them to feel confident in their skin, look and style. I launched my fashion "shopper" blog this month, in May 2018 and will have a flow of rich content full of inspiration and education.
My primary source of content is on my Instagram and my website. I specialize in fashion inspiration, education, advertising, brand collaborations and styling.
Our readers would love to get to know you more Amy. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you, your brand or the services you offer?
I am a 23-year-old gal living in Downtown Los Angeles. Urban chic is my middle name ;) (It's Farah.) I am Lebanese/American, raised in Los Angeles and my absolute favourite past time is shopping. I know how to get the deals, where to look, and what to buy and I intend on helping every 20-something babe out there do the same.
Amy, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Blogger?
There is nothing I love more than helping a woman feel beautiful and confident. This all starts with the inside out of course, but I love helping people women learn what to buy that compliments their shape and looks high end (even if they didn't pay designer prices for it). I have always loved fashion and helping women so this just lead strait to my blog launch, and I'm so excited to be on this path!
Who is your inspiration in life Amy? How do you stay inspired as Blogger?
My boyfriend is a huge inspiration for me. Every time I feel doubtful about posting a photo of the fear of judgment, my boyfriend James always reminds me I'm doing great and being myself. He's one of my favourite photographers as well ;) always coming up with cool ways he can photograph my look.
Knowing I can help women feel confident and inspire them keeps me feeling excited to share my next big idea.
We all make mistakes Amy; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?
I am a firm believer in the classic "everything happens for a reason." We are all on our journey that is perfect in its way. I don't have anything I would take back... maybe have more self-love at an earlier age!
Amy, How do you describe yourself regarding working with clients?
I love working with boutique brands looking to grow that have fun clothing designs. I focus on working with brands that are affordable without giving up quality. I think it's really important to collaborate with the right people for the magic to happen.
Please tell us, Amy, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?
I try to time block my entire schedule; this helps clarify and prioritize your days. I like getting my work tasks done earlier in the day and focus on friends and family in the evenings. The best thing is to stay focused on what you want to get done in certain periods of time in the day, and schedule time in your week where you can catch up with friends and family.
Amy, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I remember shooting with a photographer who just did not want to shoot in certain locations because the background didn't look nice enough or compliment the outfit. I let them know (nicely!!) that the focus is the outfit and the fashion, any background can look chic if I feel confident in myself and what I'm wearing.
The photographer, alas, became WAY more creative with the shoots and where there is potential for a great photo.
Amy, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Blogger.
It felt great when I received my first message from an online clothing store looking to have me promote their collection. I felt like I had to create an inspiring platform for them to showcase their designs on... that's when I knew I had done something right.
Amy, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I first started my mood board for my blog, I felt very indecisive with the look I wanted to go for. I just let it go and allowed myself to start from scratch is the look I had created didn't feel right. Going with my creative intuition instead of what other people think I should do is the most important creative decision I have made. It can be difficult to listen to yourself when there are so many contradicting opinions out there.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Blogger?*
I would suggest figuring out exactly what you want to do and WHY (finding your why is the most important step, this is what will keep you motivated and on track with your content.) Why do you want to blog? Who do you want to teach/inspire/or help? Then just keep going! Don't give up- it's very hard to kill something that keeps getting up. Don't let anyone steal your dreams.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Absolutely. I would love to work with creative photographers, other fashion bloggers, and clothing brands that share a similar vision for inspiring and helping 20-something gals to look and feel great :)
