Yes

Our readers would love to get to know you more Amanda. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I specialize in servicing the nontraditional client who seeks more than the standard portrait. I thrive working in an artistic environment with clients who value style and editorial art.

Amanda, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?

I have been fascinated with photographs for as long as I can remember, starting with an old box of pictures in my grandmothers closet. The curiosity of the stories those people held within a lifetime still intrigues me every time I see an old photo. I want to create photographs that intrigue that same curiosity in anyone who looks upon them.

Who is your inspiration in life Amanda? How do you keep inspired?

Photographically my inspiration is whoever is currently in front of my lens and the story they wish to tell in pictures.

We all make mistakes Amanda, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Photographer, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
In all honesty, I do my best to treat my colleagues the way I'd like to be treated. I have definitely been on the receiving end of large egos and bad attitudes. I am a firm believer that it never makes you or your talent appear larger by making someone else feel small.

Amanda, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Knowing your own personal limits is key! I am not a person who thrives in chaos, I love to work, but also need a significant amount of downtime. Knowing this about myself has helped me establish systems and limits within my business to help me successfully manage client service.

Please tell us, Amanda, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?

Every. Single. Day. Being an entrepreneur requires you to develop time management skills to get everything done. I personally am a one-woman show, I email, invoice, photograph, edit, deliver, manage social media, etc. If it gets done, I do it... This requires daily strategic planning to accomplish it all.

Amanda, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
The power of suggestion is an amazing tool. Usually as a professional if I make a suggestion to a client about a project and leave it with them to mull over and decide upon on their own, they will typically defer to my knowledge in the situation.

Amanda, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I would have to say my first print publication, there's nothing like seeing your work within the pages of a magazine for the first time.

Amanda, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
When I am not working for a specific client I am free to create whatever my imagination holds. It is exciting to simply see these ideas come to life. The most difficult part is sourcing vendors to share your vision and assist in the creation.

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?

Find your voice, your style, the thing that makes you feel most alive while you work and do that! Keep your eyes on what you're doing and looking to accomplish and don't compare yourself to others. There is room at the table for your creative voice, don't doubt that for a minute. And even when you do, because there's no doubt you will at some point, don't let it stop you. Just keep working and moving towards what you want to achieve.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands, and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I'm open to discussing any collaboration opportunities. My interests are varied, so let's chat!
