"The things that make me different are the things that make me.†I believe it is the Golden Ratio of passion, imagination, vision and creativity that has helped me to grow and stand out.
Alyssa, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
I’m a storyteller. I see modelling as an opportunity to tell stories. I'm passionate about stories that will resonate in the hearts and minds of customers far into the future. I started modelling six years ago after being featured in an episode of MTV's show True Life, and a music video by George Moss called "Hands Up".
Who is your inspiration in life Alyssa? How do you keep inspired?
My commitment to God and my strong foundations keep me moving forward toward the prize. My relationships energise me and receive inspiration from every new experience and person I meet.
We all make mistakes Alyssa; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Model; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I auditioned for an improv acting gig with my best friend. I wish I'd auditioned separately because I didn't fight for the job as I might have otherwise... I wanted her to have the role as much as me! She got the job. :)
Alyssa, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I have my mom to thank for my OCD and list-making quirks, but I am organised and disciplined about keeping records and following through on commitments. I believe each client deserves excellent service and utmost integrity.
Please tell us, Alyssa, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
I had two modelling jobs booked in one day that required a 3-hour commute in an area I wasn't familiar with. I made sure to have a restful night beforehand, researched the area and had a clear understanding of the location and schedule, arrived early to each job all ready to shoot, assisted the crew, and provided snacks. Because of the extra time I put in to prepare, I was able to help keep us on schedule.
Alyssa, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I earned the trust and respect of my interns through my willingness to extend them grace and also confront wrongdoing. When they were dishonest about a mistake they made, I encouraged them to be truthful, extended them forgiveness and helped them to see the value of integrity.
Alyssa, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
I'm proud to have been featured in a commercial for The Passion Translation... I'm a Christian and love supporting products I believe in!
Alyssa, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I was featured in a yoga fv show and if was MY first experience with yoga... It was stretching to say the least, but I gave my all and pulled it off! I was sore for a week. Now I'm a regular. :)
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
For every 50 "no"s, you'll get one "yes". It's not a rejection of you as a person - they don't know you. Don't quit. :)
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'd like to model for and collaborate with brands, talents, creatives, photographers and videographers.
