Working with Alexis is always a lot of fun. She is passionate and caring towards her clients, which shows in the images she creates. , and it's simplicity...

Alexis, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as Photographer?

I wish to become a successful and independent business owner... my ultimate goal is to have my work published for more eyes to see! My journey as a photographer started about two years ago when I quit my job as an optometric assistant because I was unhappy. I took some time to myself; during that time I discovered photography and the power of telling stories through a picture. I've done the head first into the industry since then. I'm constantly improving and learning new things!

Who is your inspiration in life Alexis? How do you stay inspired as a Photographer?

Nature is my inspiration. Whenever I feel uninspired, I go outside, try and scout new locations for future shoots... it always lifts my spirits and gets me excited to go back behind the camera.

We all make mistakes Alexis; we wish we could take back. What was the mistake you made in the past that you wish you can take back?

My biggest mistake that I wish I could take back is being too shy sometimes to get that amazing shot. Being timid limits you, I wish I could go back 1 or 2 years and talk to those models, companies, business who could have been potential clients if I would have just approached then first. My confidence has improved, but I'm still working on it!

Alexis, How do you describe yourself in terms of working with clients?

I am very professional towards my clients. However, I like taking an interest in my clients and their lives. It makes them open up and feel more comfortable. And therefore gets those magic shots!

Please tell us, Alexis, how do you prioritise work, social life, friends, and family?

It's a bit of a balancing act! I am very lucky to have such a supporting husband; he helps me out as much as he can! I've learned in the past that your life can't is work... you need to make time for yourself and your family to stay grounded! I like to do a five day work week, leaving two days for my family and friends!

Alexis, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.

My clients trust my vision... I like to plan photoshoots before they happen. This way everything comes together coherently, and everyone knows what to expect before the actual shoot. I find this saves me so much conflict and confusion between the whole team!

Alexis, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer.

I won a photography contest in which my work was displayed in a museum for 3 months... a proud moment!

Alexis, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?

Creativity is my forte! I love taking regular portrait sessions and kicking them up a notch with some new things, whether it's a bold makeup look, some antique props, etc...

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Photographer?

My greatest advice is never to give up. Being a great photographer involves practice, long hours and hard work!
