I think my compassion and caring for others is what makes me unique. No matter the situation or problem; I'm always there for others with a shoulder to cry on or a helping hand.
Alexa, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Model?
My Aspiration/goal in life is to be a social media marketer, a model and in a couple of years (hopefully) a mom/wife.When I was in high school, I always wanted to be a model, but because of the way I viewed myself in the mirror, I thought it was an impossible goal. Every morning I would wake up and look in the mirror..only to see someone I didn't like staring back at me, and because of this, I tried hard to be someone I wasn't and eventually I hated myself so much that I stopped looking in mirrors and windows completely. Until one day I looked and saw someone completely new that I loved because I stopped trying and I started growing into the person I am today without even noticing. After that day I started looking into modelling until I found Lk Taylor and had my first photo shoot!
Who is your inspiration in life Alexa? How do you keep inspired?
I have so many people in my life that Inspire me:My parents have always inspired me never to give up even when life gets rough,My brother has taught me to try new things even if I don't want too,My Grandparents have inspired me to be kind and love others no matter what,My theater teacher who taught me to express myself through my words and always to stay inspired, My friends have always taught me to smile and to laugh even when I don't want too,And my boyfriend Lucas has been a huge inspiration to me and he continues to inspire me every day with his love, hard work and passion. All together, everyone in my life helps me to stay inspired and they all help me keep going.
We all make mistakes Alexa, we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I was doing a group shoot with a bunch of models, and I noticed one of the models was being very rude to the photographer, but instead of doing anything for helping the photographer, I sat back and did nothing. I regret not using my voice and standing up for someone who really needed it.
Alexa, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Model, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I start off by organising my clients into different groups of priority, and then I make sure none of our photos shoots overlap, then I make sure I have a good night's rest and that I'm early for the shoot so I can provide excellent service.
Please tell us, Alexa, about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Model?
One time I had three photographers that could only work on one Saturday so I had to strategically plan out three different times and places that worked for each photographer and I also had to account for drive time and makeup/dress changes.
Alexa, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
I have a very different way of organising things that makes sense inside my brain. There have been multiple times when coworkers don't exactly agree on the way I put things in our office space or workshop until I properly persuaded and explained why my way worked better over there's until they finally agreed.
Alexa, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
My proudest moment was my first photo shoot because afterwards, I was finally able to say I was a model and show everyone how all my hard work over the past couple of months had finally paid off and came up with some amazing results.
Alexa, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I had decided a couple of weeks before my 18th birthday that I wanted to do a Cancer goddess shoot in honour of my zodiac sign. It was so exciting designing my outfit and watching my crown be put together for the shoot! Until the shoot happened and things got difficult like when my crown broke and when we realised that we had almost no makeup. But in the end, the photos turned out great, and I learned a lot from that experience!
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Model?
It doesn't matter what you look like or the color of your skin or even the size of your pants...anyone can be a model! Once you realise that, you will find success.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I'm looking for everything plus more when it comes to working with others! I want to try new things and have new experiences with different styles and different people.
