Our readers would love to get to know you more Ajith. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?
I think every person is unique in their own way. What makes me unique from others is my illustrations. I illustrate not because it's my work, but I Illustrate because I love to do. It makes me relieve all the tension that I have in my life. When I'm illustrating, I don't want anyone to be around, only me and my illustrations
Ajith, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as an Illustrator?
I just want to make people happy with my illustrations. From my childhood itself, I was so mesmerised by the alluring beauty of couture. Just to see them makes me happy. I started illustrating when I was 16. I saw many YouTube videos to learn the basic things for illustrations because I wanted to be perfect in what I do. Instagram helped me. I found many illustrators. They inspired me so much. What I am now it's because of them
Who is your inspiration in life Ajith? How do you keep inspired?
Tamara Ralph and Michael Russo are my inspiration. The way they started their business as a designer in the fashion industry is so inspiring.
Illustrators like Megan Hess and Megan Morrison (@travelwritedraw) are truly an inspiration. I keep by seeing fresh talents in this field. When I see illustrators drawing their best, it keeps me inspired.
We all make mistakes Ajith; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being an Illustrator; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I remember the time when I got an email from an Indian designer. She told me to illustrate around six designs. But the work rate she offered was very less. Since I didn't know the work rate in India because I never worked or did any custom illustration for an Indian colleague. So eventually I lost that opportunity to work with that designer.
Ajith, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As an Illustrator, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
It didn't happen till now because I set my time accordingly for every client so that I can give the best to my clients. So that every client are happy with my work.
Please tell us Ajith, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as an Illustrator?
It always happens to me because being a medical student and a fashion illustrator is tough. To achieve all the top priorities as an illustrator, I think to maintain a balance with time is really important and that's exactly what I do
Ajith, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
Till now I didn't do that
Ajith, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as an Illustrator. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
The proudest professional accomplishment was illustrating a wedding Illustration for a couple. It made me so happy because the client loved my illustration.
Ajith, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I'm still creative with my work because I think being creative is a fashion illustrator should be. Being a fashion illustrator, we should try to be creative with our illustrators because clients and viewers love creative things.
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as an Illustrator?
To be a successful fashion illustrator. You should always get inspired from other illustrators. You should believe in yourself, and as I said earlier, you should be creative and you should be happy and should not think it as a job.
Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, definitely I would love to collaborate with fashion talents, brands and creatives. Fashion illustrations is something which I love to illustrate, but I don't have any specific kind of collaboration
