Our readers would love to get to know you more Aaliya. Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

Well, one unique thing about me is that I'm a mixed kid. My dad is an American, and my mom is Hong Kong Chinese. I enjoy the differences though. I think I'm getting the best of TWO cultures!

Aaliya, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Kid or teenager managed by parents?

I've always been a very artistic girl. Not necessarily with drawing or painting, but with dancing, movement, music, and the human body. I love trying out new types of poses and facial expressions. It's also a lot of fun for me to find fresh artistic ideas in different types of media!

Who is your inspiration in life Aaliya? How do you keep inspired?

I try to find inspiration in lots of different places. There are many specific models and artists who inspire me, but I also get excited when I see something new in someone's photo, painting, or dance piece. Art is everywhere!

We all make mistakes Aaliya; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a  young model, you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I'm very careful to maintain good relationships with everyone in my industry, but when I was very little, I sometimes forgot the names of a couple of people. Getting to know those you work with is so important, no matter what your job is. People need to see that you care about them and want to see them succeed as well.

Aaliya , when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a young model, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Well, as a kid model, the best thing to do is to pay close attention to what those on set are communicating to you. Once I know what's expected of me, I try my best to fulfil those expectations.

Please tell us Aaliya, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a  young model?

I guess the best example would be a long photo shoot I did on a beach last year. It was a very tiring all day shoot in the sand, and the wind and water made it very cold as well. I had to focus to make all the shots as perfect as I could. I was able to find the strength though, and that ended up being one of my shoots I'm most proud of.

Aaliya, please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
This usually happens in the middle of a photo shoot when I'm trying out something a little strange or silly, and my dad may try telling me not too. There have been many times that I showed everyone that it would look good in a photo, and eventually convinced them to let me continue!

Aaliya, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as  young model. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
Yes, there have been many proud moments, but my favourite (apart from the beach job I mentioned before) probably has to be being featured as the face of a huge campaign for a luxury mall here in Hong Kong. My face was on huge walls within the mall, in a TV commercial, on buses, on those bus stops with big TV screens, on trams, everywhere! It was an exhilarating feeling, for sure!

Aaliya, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I always try to bring some of my creativity into play during my photo shoots. That's what makes it so much fun for me! I have lots of examples of shoots in which I dance or twirl uniquely. Once I even got a very beautiful photo by holding a plush leopard toy on my head! Daring, but it worked!

What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a young model?

Be confident! You have to believe in yourself if you want others to believe in you too.

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
Yes, I am excited about working with many types of brands, photographers, companies, and other creators. I have done a lot of luxury / high-end work, but if you think my look would be a good match for your vision, please let me join you! I've done magazines, property ads, TV, art projects / installations, online campaigns, everything!

Now for the best part Aaliya! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
