ABOUT
I am a fine art photographer that specializes in teens in women in Western, WA. My style is leans towards a more fashion and glamour look. I am an up and coming photographer that is completely self-taught.

I truly enjoy working with local makeup artists to collaborate on fashion photoshoots to empower women to see their beauty and potential.

Taking photos is a true artistic process for me and I love planning out a shoot to the finest detail and creating a stunning art piece for my clients.

Our readers would love to get to know you more Sarah . Tell us about yourself, what is unique about you?

I am a photographer that truly aims to make art within my photography by using bold and saturated color palettes. It is also my goal with every photoshoot to empower the woman in front of my camera to see the beauty I see.

Sarah , what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Photographer?

My truest passions in life are making art and empowering women and girls to live the best version of their lives.

Photography has been a part of me in some way most of my life but once I found fashion and glamour photography I was completely smitten with it and knew that I could use it to fuel my passion for art and for empowering women and girls.

Who is your inspiration in life Sarah ? How do you keep inspired?

My inspiration comes from so many people around me. My family, my friends, the girls and women I get to meet through my photography. Everyone's story leaves some mark of inspiration on my heart.

In life I try to stay inspired by surrounding myself with these people on a regular basis. In photography I stay inspired through continually looking at other photographers whose work I admire, magazines, paintings, music, and fashion just to name a few.

We all make mistakes Sarah , we wish we could take back. Please tell us about a time being a Photographer , you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I haven't had a chance to do many collaborations in my photography career just yet but I will say that there have been a few shoots in which I regretted not planning the details out better. Having the details planned out helps everyone involved have a smoother experience where each artist can enjoy their work and have a great time.

Sarah  ,when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Photographer, how do you go about prioritizing your clients’ needs?

Generally speaking my client number is pretty low per shoot but excellence in quality and in service is a top priority for me always. The experience for the client is just as important as the end result.

Every client involved in the shoot always has an opportunity to voice their opinions and visions with me and ultimately the client that is actually getting photographed is where my top focus will be because I want them to have the best experience and forever love the images they end up with.

Please tell us Sarah , about a time you had to be very strategic in order to meet all your top priorities as a Photographer?

I run a teen model team in my area and we do a lot of concept type shoots that involve a hand full of girls at one time. Keeping each girl feeling important, involved, and equally beautiful is always a challenge I am making sure to meet.

When doing a model team shoot I make sure to get individual shots of each girl as long as team shots of all the girls together. This kind of shoot always requires me to have a strategic plan of timing so that no one girl feels bored or left out or less important than another.

During the individual photos, I have the girls not being photographed sitting together just listening to music, doing behind the scenes social media for me and having an overall good time bonding.

Each girl gets about 5 minutes of individual shots and then I have them all come together and we get group shots and it is always a great time!

Sarah , please give us an example of a time when you were able to successfully persuade someone to see things your way at work.
I really have not run in to a situation like this as of yet. My collaborations go well because I work really hard to keep an open line of communication and make sure all parties feel heard and have input on the creative process.

Sarah please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Photographer. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share to everyone. What is it and why?
I am still somewhat new to the professional photography industry and I do not have a professional accomplishment to speak of yet. However I can tell you that when I have a teen tell me that they feel so confident and strong and beautiful because of the experience I provided for them, this is what my job is all about!

Sarah , please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
Although I work to be creative on a regular basis, I do several shoots a year where I am shooting for fun just to stay inspired and shoot creatively for myself.

Those shoots are usually high concept and it can be really difficult to make what you see in your head come across in a photo. That being said I always feel such a rush of excitement when I am being creative, there is no feeling like it in the world.

What advice would you give to the people who wants to be successful as a Photographer?

Being that I am still working at being successful myself I might not have the most advice for others. I will say however that you really have to stay open and find the kind of photography and aesthetic that speaks to your soul and once you find it, never stop doing it.

Do not waste time on all the negative feedback you will get from others. Photography is an art form and although you should learn the basics and have skill with your camera, remember that you should enjoy it and have a passion for it or it's not going to be worth it.

Art will always have haters and people trying to drag you down so do your best to ignore all of that and make the kind of photographs that you love. The people that love your work will find you!

Are you looking for collaboration with fashion talents, brands and creatives? If yes, please state below what type of collaboration you are looking for?
I do not have any specific ideas or collaborations I am looking for but I am very open to all new ideas and opportunities!

Now for the best part Sarah ! Please upload 5-10 photos so we can get to see your work.
