I am a one-stop shop.
Keyanah, what are your passion and aspiration in life? How did you start as a Hair Stylist?
At five years old I was infatuated with my cabbage patch dolls and twisting up their hair. I saw a lady braid one day and picked it up. I've been doing hair ever since. Makeup came along in high school and beauty school.
Who is your inspiration in life Keyanah? How do you keep inspired?
Honestly speaking Ellaire from YouTube and Tyra Banks inspires me a lot. There tutorials and so fun and helpful for women. And let's not forget how beautiful they are.
We all make mistakes Keyanah; we wish we could take back. Please tell us about time being a Hair Stylist; you wish you’d handled a situation differently with a colleague.
I tend to handle all discrepancies any client has with the utmost respect for them. I have over 15 years of customer service experience. Giving me a one up on most and being still in my 20s
Keyanah, when you’re working with a large number of clients, it’s tricky to deliver excellent service to them all. As a Hair Stylist, how do you go about prioritising your clients’ needs?
I always remember no one man is more Superior than another. Treat everyone the same for you do not know what they are going through.
Please tell us Keyanah, about a time you had to be very strategic to meet all your top priorities as a Hair Stylist?
When I am a booked for fashion shows, I am sure to have a set list of priority services I must perform first for the show to run smoothly on my end. Stressful yet fun and educational. You learn the does and donts for next time.
Keyanah, please give us an example of a time when you were able to persuade someone to see things your way at work successfully.
These seem to be a thing I'm capable of doing all the time. I think logically and help make a decision based on the consultation. I'm thankful for the attention to detail and client preference.
Keyanah, please tell us about your proudest professional accomplishment as a Hair Stylist. There might be many, but there is always this proudest moment that you just want to share with everyone. What is it and why?
Being featured in over five different magazines as a hairstylist, makeup artist, the creative director is pretty awesome.
Keyanah, please give us an example of a time you were able to be creative with your work. What was exciting or difficult about it?
I got to be the creative director and hairstylist at my fashion and hair show directed by me. Planning and seeing final results were the exciting parts. The difficult part was making sure that I keep everybody on their toes making sure nobody loses control and that everybody has a good time
What advice would you give to the people who want to be successful as a Hair Stylist?
Go for it. Being your cheerleader is a must. You have to push and work for what you want. Without the approval of others
